Syrian cease fire, that's laughable

Syrian cease fire is another word for mass slaughter

Shelling in Syria as UN Monitors Arrive, attacks widen, and the cease fire unravels, Syrian cease-fire on verge of shattering. This is the opning round of the worlds battle to forge the future.

Shelling in Syria as UN Monitors Arrive: An advance team of U.N. observers on Monday was working with Syrian officials on the ground rules for monitoring the country's 5-day old cease-fire, which appeared to be rapidly unraveling Monday as regime forces pounded the opposition stronghold of Homs with artillery shells and mortars, activists said.

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon expressed serious concern over the Syrian government's continued shelling of Homs and said "the whole world is watching with skeptical eyes" whether the cease-fire can be sustained. Also Monday, a Hamas official said a senior member of the Palestinian group, Mustafa Lidawi, was abducted over the weekend near Damascus. In the past, Mr. Lidawi had served as the Hamas representative in Iran and Lebanon.

Syrian Forces Widen Attacks as Cease-Fire Unravels: The activist group said troops loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad also continued to shell the Khaldiyeh neighborhood in the central city of Homs, a center of the anti-government revolt. Homs has been under continuous attack, with only a short break on the first day of the cease-fire. The casualties could not be independently verified.

In Damascus, the head of an advance team of six unarmed United Nations observers said it would take time for monitors to reach the hardest hit areas. Col. Ahmed Himmiche said Tuesday the group's mission "is a difficult process [that] requires coordination and planning...we should move step by step."

: BEIRUT -- Six days into the Syrian cease-fire and the term does not seem to fit, according to anti-government activists.Shelling continued in the battered city of Homs and a government offensive in the northwest province of Idlib intensified, activists said, with almost 50 people killed, most of them in Idlib.

One media activist, Khalid Mahmoud Qbiesho in Idlib, was reported killed when a tank rolled over his head, according to the Local Coordination Committees, an anti-government group. Others were killed execution-style after intense shelling, activists said. United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon termed Tuesday's violence as "sporadic," but suggested a planned U.N. observer mission of 250 people may not be big enough "considering the current situation and considering the vastness of the country."

Forget any thoughts of a peace deal working. Assad calls the protesters and peace workers terrorists and promises to stamp them out. This has barely begun!

We are going to get dragged into this rest assured and you can't really think at least Russia and Iran will not come out in the open: I remember saying from day one that it would take almost the whole military to defect before they would have a chance and now that we know how involved Russia, Iran and Hezbollah are in the slaughtering that is going on around the country that is beginning to look like the beginning of their fight.

You have to be very concerned about what is happening in Syria especially. Russia, China, and Iran are not going to allow Syria to fall to Democracy. What we saw after the voter fraud in Iran was mild compared to what the IRG will do if this movement spreads to Iran. I really wish Bashar would step down but Iran is the elephant in the room any way you look at it. The total middle east breakdown we have written about numerous times is well under way. We can only hope we keep it from erupting into WW3.

In closing: You know Putin just got himself reelected as President, he did this so he could be at the helm of Russia as he like me knows 100% that world war is our future. He plans on marshaling China who is rapidly building a more formidable military and whoever he can to take on US hegemony.Russia watched helplessly as we had our way in Libya. Putin blames what is happening in Syria on our interference and Libya for training the protesters to fight against Bashar Al-Assad.Russia and Iran will not let this be another Libya but?

Putin is going to do everything possible to keep us from helping the Syrian people and I really feel for them. I do not see this going down the way Libya did and Iran and Russia are going to make sure it does not. I am afraid the Syrian people are going to be sacrificed, sacrificed in what is merely an opening salvo in this the wars for future dominance. God help us!

US "slipping into a fascist system" Wrong! Republicans turned us into a fascist nation long ago

I feel we must repost this as, of late we have been losing more rights and the state has been increasingly gaining more control of us. There are those that mention a police state, nationalism, fascism, and those that feel we are stretching it a bit. It is a fact and it did not start with Obama but 100% with Bush and Cheney. Obama has not let powers go as he said he would but has been expounding on them instead.

Ron Paul: US "slipping into a fascist system" Ron Paul warned the U.S. is "slipping into a fascist system" dominated by government and businesses as he held a fiery rally Saturday night upstaging established Republican Party banquets a short distance away.

"We've slipped away from a true Republic," Paul said. "Now we're slipping into a fascist system where it's a combination of government and big business and authoritarian rule and the suppression of the individual rights of each and every American citizen."

It really irks me that Republicans started as a result of Rove, Cheney and Bush to accuse Democrats of doing what they themselves are doing. It really peeves me that it is still continuing successfully because it goes unchecked. Remember too that it was Chief Justice Roberts a Republican who gave our Nation to corporations stupidly saying they are people too and can give as much money as they want to control what they want. That finished our Democracy off and short of full armed Revolution I see no turning it around. It is time to replace Capitalism with Democracy!

The Transformation of the American Conservative Movement into Fascism, It is not a transformation but a proven fact!
Obama is in part continuing Bush's Fascist agenda only kinder and gentler!

Max Blumenthal’s book, Republican Gomorrah was interesting, had some good points but yes thinks are getting worse with the tea partiers and the complicit Republican party this is not a transformation, under Bush it became proven, demonstrated, undeniable fact. Odd or not Obama is pretty darn close to the new American Fascist party! The Transformation of the American Conservative Movement into Fascism

I keep hearing how Obama has us on the road to Fascism. Not in every instance but he is largely traveling on the road Bush paved. Look what we were saying under Bush! This was a common theme of mine with Bush. Not only the 14 threads of Fascism but look at the 10 steps to end a Democracy. It is a quick one and I illustrate us! They blame everything on Obama too! Fascism under Bush

Now I want to relist the 10 steps listed to end a Democracy as they pertain to us and you will agree.

1. Invoke a terrifying internal and external enemy. The enemy is us! After 9/11 the Patriot act was passed, fear constantly pressed on us and Bush started his power grab.
2. Create a gulag . Once you have got everyone scared, the next step is to create a prison system outside the rule of law, FEMA Concentration camps!
3. Develop a thug caste: Private security even at times various Governmental agencies. The police get wore and worse!
4. Set up an internal surveillance system You know this one strikes home!
5. Harass citizens' groups
6. Engage in arbitrary detention and release
7. Target key individuals: Threaten civil servants
8. Control the press
9. Dissent equals treason: We know only Bushco could commit treason as they set up their new America
10. Suspend the rule of law: The John Warner Defense Authorization Act of 2007 gave the president new powers over the national guard. He can now send New York's national guard against another State if "He" deems necessary!

Remember the 14 common threads of Fascism: keep the entire world in mind but particularly how everyone of them applies in America today, more so under Bush I think. This is scary!

* 1. Powerful and continuing expressions of nationalism. Bingo!

* 2. Disdain for the importance of human rights. Bingo!

* 3. Identification of enemies/scapegoats as a unifying cause. Bingo!

* 4. The supremacy of the military/avid militarism. Bingo!

* 5. Rampant sexism. Bingo, Bingo, Bingo!

* 6. A controlled mass media. Bingo!

* 7. Obsession with national security. Bingo!

* 8. Religion and ruling elite tied together. Bingo!*

9. Power of corporations protected. Bingo!

* 10. Power of labor suppressed or eliminated. Bingo!

* 11. Disdain and suppression of intellectuals and the arts. Bingo! (at the link read how it does apply)

* 12. Obsession with crime and punishment. Bingo!

* 13. Rampant cronyism and corruption. Bingo!

* 14. Fraudulent elections. Bingo!*

* Now what do you think and believe?

Israel's U.S. envoy: Award to Helen Thomas shows Palestinians aren't ready for peace: Wrong!

Israel's U.S. envoy: Award to Helen Thomas shows Palestinians aren't ready for peace: A decision by the Palestinian mission to the United States to honor journalist Helen Thomas proves the Palestinians inability to meet the "basic requisites of peace," Israel's ambassador to the U.S. Michael Oren said on Tuesday.

Oren, responding to a Sunday ceremony in which Thomas was marked for her support of the "Palestinian position, said he "was appalled by the award ceremony given by the PLO delegation in Washington to Helen Thomas, who has been completely shunned by all decent Americans after making anti-Semitic remarks, along with teaching Palestinian children to hate the Jewish State and to glorify suicide bombers."

I have to say that I am far from anti Semite growing up in the US with Jewish friends and some best friends being Jewish but I happen to have agreed with what Helen said that led to her falling out. Let me refresh your memory.

Monday, June 07, 2010

Helen Thomas, Dean of the White House press corp. called a Bigot for saying Jews should get the hell out of Palestine, is she right?

Israel was created in 1948, after UN Resolution 181 partitioned the territory of the British Mandate for Palestine into two states for Jews and Palestinian Arabs. At the time, there were approximately 1.2 million Arabs and 650,000 Jews in all of Palestine. The Arabs objected to the creation of the Jewish state and fought a war against it. The Arab side lost the war, and the Palestinian state never really came into being. The territory allotted to the Palestinian state by the UN partition resolution was taken over by Israel and Jordan. About 780, 000 Palestinians became refugees, many of them living in the Gaza strip as well as in the West Bank. Background and map of Palestine

A video surfaced where Helen Thomas is asked, at of all things the White House Jewish Heritage Celebration on May 27th 2010, "any comments on Israel." Helen Thomas said "Tell them to get the hell out of Palestine. Remember, these people are occupied and it's their land. Not Germany. Not Poland." When the questioner, who knew he's caught a live one, asked where Jews should go, Thomas didn't miss a beat, saying "They go home, Poland, Germany, and America' and everywhere else." Helen Thomas says Jews should get out of Palestine Well? Israel wants the truth hidden and we will let them!

You know, there is so much in what she said, the original agreement, our guilt in this conflict that will never end peacefully, what Ahmadinejad said a year ago... You know, first reading how Israel and Palestine was allotted their territories in 1948 I do not condone that Israel has not been forced to adhere to that resolution. We, the US Britain and Europe especially are as guilty as Israel for not insisting Israel adhere to UN Resolution 181.

You know I say often that we are Israel's lap dog, her pit Bull that will do the fighting for her when she gets in trouble. Israel I came to realize is the worlds chief warmonger and the US the enforcer. It became obvious that coming to Israel's rescue would be how the US has the excuse to go after Iran.

I can not stand the fascist Ahmadinejad and his senseless antagonism nor his unrelenting desire to obliterate Israel. That said, I have to agree with something he said a year ago and Helen Thomas just said and apologized for. The Israel, Palestinian, Iran, Syria, Middle East issue will never be resolved peacefully Knowing that I have to agree with Ahmadinejad when he said if the US and Europe felt so bad for what happened to the Jews during WW2 then they should have given them part of their country.

* In closing Helen Thomas said "Tell them (israel) to get the hell out of Palestine. Remember, these people are occupied and it's their land, not Germany, not Poland. When the questioner asked where Jews should go, Thomas didn't miss a beat, saying "They go home, Poland, Germany, and America' and everywhere else."

Well that may be true but it will never happen of course and Ahmadinejad may be right in that one issue but the best we could hope for is an adherence to UN resolution 181. That will never happen either and all I can see is a total Middle East breakdown that Bush guaranteed when he attacked Iraq to help Israel set up their buffer zone.

inching towards war in Syria: Russia Orders Syria To Obey Peace Plan as UN to send monitors to Syria on Sunday as fighting rages

Russia Orders Syria To Obey Peace Plan : Russia has reportedly called on all sides in Syria to "strictly" obey UN envoy Kofi Annan's peace plan, after forces loyal to the government shelled the city of Homs. The reports of violence come two days after a ceasefire began and ahead of a United Nations Security Council vote later on a Western-Arab draft resolution authorizing a team to monitor the fragile ceasefire.
The draft calls on the regime to allow access for up to 30 unarmed military observers. It is unclear how many additional monitors will be sent in the coming weeks, but diplomatic sources suggest as many as 500. The Russian foreign ministry said: "The resolution on the deployment into Syria of a UN monitoring mission advance group has been practically agreed for adoption at the UN Security Council."

UN to send monitors to Syria on Sunday as fighting rages: * "Look, world, what they are doing," video maker screams By Oliver Holmes and Balaji Rakonda, BEIRUT, April 15 (Reuters) - The United Nations will send an advance team of observers to Syria on Sunday to start monitoring a shaky ceasefire, even as a surge in violence on the ground threatened to derail international efforts to end more than a year of bloodshed.
Russia and China joined the rest of the Security Council to authorize the deployment of up to 30 unarmed observers in the first resolution on Syria the 15-nation council managed to approve unanimously since the uprising erupted in March 2011. A spokesman for international mediator Kofi Annan said on Saturday an advance team of six monitors would arrive in Syria within 24 hours and deploy within 36 hours, with more to follow within days.

Tanks are chasing people down in Homs and firing indiscriminately. Under fire themselves crews were filming the atrocities by the Government. Meanwhile the Government was blaming it all on terrorists. The videographer was screaming "look world we are in a state of war" I will guarantee you that when the monitors are on the ground anything they see will be blamed on a reaction to terrorists and when the UN monitors are killed and they will be it too will be blamed on terrorists.

Inching towards war in Syria: The legal basis is the hang-up now, since Russia and China could veto a Security Council resolution authorizing action. But they may not protect Assad forever, and NATO just might find a pretext to move even without the U.N.'s endorsement.

I reiterate: We are going to get dragged into this rest assured and you can't really think at least Russia and Iran will not come out in the open: I remember saying from day one that it would take almost the whole military to defect before they would have a chance and now that we know how involved Russia, Iran and Hezbollah are in the slaughtering that is going on around the country that is beginning to look like the beginning of their fight.

Civilization Is At Risk Absent ‘Urgent And Large-Scale Action’ Warns Planetary Summit

Civilization Is At Risk Absent ‘Urgent And Large-Scale Action’ Warns Planetary Summit: Climate change could fuel a giant ‘compost bomb’ … as decaying vegetation stuck under the ice or in peat bogs starts to heat up and tips the world into dangerous global warming. The Planet Under Pressure conference began with an urgent warning of fast-approaching tipping points like the “compost bomb.” It ended with a plea by the conference leaders for urgent and large-scale action.

The conference website reports, “Scientists issue first ‘State of the Planet’ declaration at the world’s largest gathering of experts on global environmental and social issues in advance of the major UN Summit Rio+20 in June.” The language is unusually blunt for scientists — or it would have been considered unusually blunt before humanity chose to ignore decades of warning by scientists.
No kidding? The giant compost bomb sounds a bit far fetched, almost a 1950's science fiction movie. However the title is right. We better take urgent large scale action now or man and the planet are in dire trouble with no chance of recovery if it is not too late already.

Okay, every life form is comprised of many living forms. Some are designed to further the life of the host some are designed to bring that life form to an end, example: cancer cells! Man's role to the life of the planet seem to be that of the cancer cell. Nobel peace prize winners are supposedly the best of the world, They must speak out loudly in unison and save it from this terrible planned future! We need our Nobel prize winners to speak up loud and clear Now!

Al Gore was being overly optimistic saying experts say we have ten years to act and some as little as two. It is worse than that and he and everyone else should know why.The Nobel prize winners must come together and bring to the forefront around the world the dire danger to us and the planet if we continue down the road of an unsurvivable world war! We must somehow convey to them that are respected around the world that the time is now and immediate. There are two overwhelming reasons why the time is now and immediate and why we may not make a difference even if we can wake up the world today!

I wrote this 7 years ago now and it is more obvious and critical every day but this is only part of it. Ignore the whole thing if you want But pay attention to the Nurturing stage and the dire consequence of ignoring this.

A time line of Life’s Cycles and Where We Are in Them and The Dire Consequences if we do not respond adequately!

Following is a time line of mans and the planets life cycles, where we are in them, and the repercussions of not doing the right thing for humanity and the planet.

We should be using our militaries for the sole purpose of helping and ensuring honesty among the Nations of the world. There can be no action taken without the knowledge and complicity of all Nations that have the future of man and the planet as their goal. This is what we should have done with Iraq. This is what we should be doing with Iran, North Korea, and many other potential hot spots around the world today. We as the United States, must stop meddling and interfering with the Politics of other Nations around the world. We should be using our militaries not to wage war but to wage peace. Our military efforts after the tsunami were a shining example of the way our militaries should be used in the future. The world as a whole must be made to realize the fragility of our situation.

We can make this work despite the tenuous situation we have put ourselves in. With that said we must proceed and work as a world unit. It will not work as separate competitive entities as we have done in the past. We must Proceed into the future as one. We must proceed into the future with the future life of man and the planet as our only goal. Nothing less than the survival of man and the planet are at stake. Shortly the planets life sustaining ecosystems will no longer have the ability to sustain the current population of man.

We can not afford to destroy them altogether. That complete destruction and no less is what we have facing us right now. It would do man, the world well to wake up to that fact and act accordingly. This is exactly what will happen if there is another unnecessary world war. Countries must be made to realize that what they have today is all they are going to get. We can trade throughout the world for the items necessary for ones civilization and survival. However, the domination of the past must be history or we will be. We must take care of what we have. It is all we are going to get. The world must be made to realize that we march into the future with what boundaries and countries we have or suffer the dire consequences.

Our prime concern, our only concern at this point in mans and the planets life cycle has to be one of self reservation. The world must wake up to the fact that preservation of man and the planet has to be our only goal and ultimate victory. Shortly we will illustrate the life cycles in any life form and you will understand where man and the planet are in them today. We went into this in great detail in our first two books. It is very obvious and very plain, it bears repeating as we seem to be learning nothing. As we said in the past, life moves only in one direction, forward.

We must not go back or attempt to go back to a cycle of life that man and the planet have already grown through and survived. We will not the next time. We have lived through the development stage of man and this planet. It is long overdue for us to get it together as a species and realize this and then face this important fact. We are now in the preservation stage of any life form. We have reached and passed the maturity stage of any life form as a species and as a planet. World wars, world dominance, world destruction, the times for that are passed. It is up to us as a world body to realize this and act accordingly.

Life’s stages
The aforementioned observances are the realization that this is not a utopian idea. It is absolutely necessary for mans survival. We must get the message to all countries of the world. Whosoever chooses to ignore the future of man and the planet must be held accountable for their action. We must get Nobel Laureate’s to publish papers on this subject. It is necessary to have someone reputable and believable write on the subject. They must sound the sense cal alarm. It must be published throughout the Nations of the world and filtered down through all levels of society. Below are the various stages of mans life cycles and where we are in them.

* The Infantile Stage – This is mans longest stage to date. With some luck we can surpass this in our maturity stage, our nurturing stage. Man was very much in his developmental stage. From mans beginning caveman day’s right up through The Dark Ages. Man was very much a live and learn being. You can not accuse man of that today. Man has lost this ability since what we will refer to as The Learning Stage. The 20th century seems to have killed this ability with its perceived lack of need. He now thinks he knows better and he knows everything. We know the thought as most of us have children. He wrongly thinks he has all the answers. We would do well to remember this phase of life.

* The Learning Stage – This period marks the end of The Dark Ages. The end of the Dark Ages coincidentally enough is marked by another perfectly cyclical event known as the Christian Crusades. This was in a point of time appropriate for the horror. The horrific thing is that Islam is going through this cycle right now. Their version of the Christian Crusaders is the Islamist Jihadists. This is occurring at a point in time when mans and the planets life cycles are beyond accepting or tolerating this behavior. At the point of time of the horrors that the Christian Crusaders committed they were accepted and tolerated.

This period covers the end of the Dark Ages up to the 20th century. This period covers the birth of mans great Religions. It covers the development of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. With the exception of the maturing of the Muslim Religion it marks the maturing of these Religions. It marks their role in the world order. This is again with the exception of the Muslim Religion. It is that time of Religious maturity which there is no place for in the world today. We, the world, humanity, have already gone through that. As a result we do not find what is happening with the Islamist Jihad particularly palatable. This period also opened the way for colonization. It marked the point in mans life cycle when the forceful taking of another country was the accepted norm. This was the time in mans and the planets life for needless pointless death and destruction. It was survivable by both man and the planet. This time is over and can no longer be accepted or tolerated.

*The Maturing Stage – This period includes WW1, WW2, and the recognition of man made hazards to mans and the planets life. This was the period in mans and the planets life cycles when world war was survivable by man and the planet. Our weapons are now too horrific for man or the planet to survive. Life only moves in one direction and for a reason. We can not allow any Nation to try and slide backwards and return to those ways. The time for that in the life cycle of the planet is over. We are becoming aware as to the frailty of the planets life sustaining ecosystems.

* The Nurturing Stage – This is mans mature stage. This is mans preservation period. The time is now. This period marks mans awakening as to the realization of mans negative impact on the life sustaining life cycle of the planet as a whole. This period marks the awakening of man as to the as to the necessity of revitalizing Natures life sustaining ecosystems. This period marks the necessity for an end to all out war. We must come to the realization that as a world we must destroy all advanced weaponry and their systems throughout the world. This is an absolute necessity for the survival of man and the planet. We must form a world board to ensure compliance by the entire world. It is for the benefit and survival of mankind and the planet. We now know the fragility of our planet and our negative role in it. As a world we must act responsibly, be held accountable, and act accordingly.

** Man has taken his ability to live and learn, an ability that has sustained and nurtured him for thousand of years and forgotten he ever had it. It had served us well throughout are creativity. Through the beginning of the 20th century man has been going through the maturity stages of his existence. Like a maturing teenager man now thinks he has all the answers. However he has none of the right ones. Would you send your Grandmother off to war? That is something you can relate to. Likewise man and the planet can not survive a world war this late in the life cycle of man and the planet. Whoever ushers in a new world war must be held personally accountable for knowingly and unwittingly bring about the end of the civilized world and our planet.

UN team ready for Syria deployment as Protests turn deadly and UN delays vote on observers

With over 10,000 dead  and tanks and snipers hidden in cities protesters will never give up

UN team ready for Syria deployment: A United Nations team of 30 unarmed military observers is ready to deploy to Syria to begin a monitoring mission as soon as the Security Council approves its mission, which may be as soon as Friday, a spokesman for special envoy Kofi Annan has said.
The team is "standing by" to begin overseeing a tenuous but apparently stable ceasefire, said Ahmad Fawzi, a spokesman for the joint UN-Arab League envoy.Protests in the wake of that ceasefire have broken out across the country, and government forces have responded by firing into the air, reportedly killing several protesters, activists claimed.

SYRIA: Protests turn deadly as UN delays vote on observers: Thousands of Syrians marched on Friday to test the regime's commitment to a UN-backed peace plan, and the fragile two-day old ceasefire was again shaken when security forces killed eight civilians.

The hard-won truce to end a 13-month crackdown on dissent that has cost an estimated more than 10,000 lives appeared to be holding, but French President Nicolas Sarkozy said he did not expect it to last. He questioned President Bashar al-Assad's sincerity and appealed for observers to monitor his compliance.

Activists said on Saturday that two neighborhoods in the Syrian city of Homs were shelled overnight, as the United Nations struggled to iron out the details about the rapid deployment of international observers. There were scattered reports of deaths and arrests linked to the demonstrations, which had been dubbed “A Revolution for All Syrians” by local organizers nationwide.

Participants admitted to feeling somewhat tentative, sticking to back streets to avoid the security forces, snipers and tanks that were used to suppress the peaceful protest movement and that remained deployed around many central squares and major crossroads. But the marches were big and exuberant enough to remind demonstrators of the mass rallies that started in March 2011 to demand the ouster of President Bashar al-Assad.

Bomb plot foiled Businesses Plan Their Own Exits before American departure

Bomb plot foiled: Cache of suicide vests found in Afghan defense ministry: "The fact that these arrests took place within the walls of the defense ministry illustrates the level of insurgent penetration within the Afghanistan establishment and just tells you -- gives a signal of -- what is likely to happen when NATO leaves," The arrests came on the same day that at least three NATO service members were shot dead by Afghan security forces in two separate attacks. A gunman wearing an Afghan army uniform killed two NATO troops in southern Afghanistan, while another was shot in eastern Afghanistan by an alleged member of the Afghan Local Police.

The attacks brought to 16 the number of NATO-led forces killed so far this year in what appeared to be attacks by members of Afghan forces. Meanwhile, support for the war in Afghanistan has dropped sharply among both Republicans and Democrats, according to a New York Times/CBS News poll published Tuesday.

Afghan arrests after authorities foil 'suicide attack': The Afghan authorities have arrested 18 people in Kabul after foiling plans for an apparent mass suicide attack, intelligence officials say. They told the BBC that 11 suicide jackets had been seized inside the ministry of defense. The officials say the attacks would have caused significant loss of life. Some of those arrested are reported to Afghan National Army soldiers. The Afghan Ministry of Defense dismissed the report as "rumours". Dawlat Wazeri, the ministry's deputy spokesman, told the BBC that no would-be bombers had been detained or suicide vests seized inside the ministry.

US orders more security for troops in Afghanistan: U.S. troops in Afghanistan are being guarded more closely and are taking other steps to protect themselves from attacks by Afghan troops, the top commander in Afghanistan, Gen. John Allen, said Wednesday. Allen ordered the measures in recent weeks after a spate of 16 attacks in which U.S. and other coalition forces were killed by Afghan soldiers.

Some of the killings were believed triggered by the accidental burning of Quran's and other religious materials. New measures include the use of so-called "guardian angels" — troops who guard others as they sleep. Americans can now carry weapons in some ministries and have moved their desks so they can keep an eye on the door. Two officers were killed at their desks in the Interior Ministry in Kabul.‎

Until this week, the U.S. military considered a small American-trained Afghan militia in eastern Afghanistan to be a success story in an expanding project that relies on loosely regulated local gunmen to challenge Taliban control in remote areas. On Friday, the security project received a blow when a member of a four-month-old unit of the Afghan Local Police, as the militias are known, apparently drugged his comrades and killed nine of them before escaping.

After the killings, the Taliban said the attacker was a member of the insurgency who had infiltrated the force in recent days to carry out the attack. It marked the second time in March that the Taliban claimed responsibility for targeting the Afghan Local Police. Earlier in the month, a member of another local police unit in southern Afghanistan allowed a Taliban fighter to enter a base and kill nine members of his unit, according to Afghan officials.

Afghanistan presses for answers on long-term : In negotiations for a Strategic Partnership Deal on long-term cooperation, one of the stumbling blocks is the U.S. plan for a limited military presence to ensure members of al Qaeda and other militant groups do not find a sanctuary again.

Countries such as Russia, China and Pakistan are wary of an indefinite U.S. military presence in the region. Neighboring Iran strongly opposes the plan. "Ultimately, it is we who are responsible for our security. We are moving towards taking full control. If there will be foreign military, then it has to be put clearly in a future security document," another senior Afghan official said.
I want us out altogether too, those people better stand up and take care of themselves and now!

In Afghanistan, Businesses Plan Their Own Exits: America may be struggling to come up with a viable exit plan for Afghanistan, but Abdul Wasay Manani is sure of his. This month, Mr. Manani, 38, flew to India for 14 days to scout out a new business, and a new home, ready to leave Afghanistan and everything he worked to build here, just in case things fall apart when most Americans and other foreign troops leave in 2014. “If the Taliban come like last time, ordering people around with whips, I can’t stay here,” he said. “I have to leave this country to keep my family safe.”

Many Afghans share his concern. In this environment, troubling indicators are not hard to find. More than 30,400 Afghans applied for asylum in industrialized nations in 2011, the highest level in 10 years and four times the number seeking asylum in 2005. The only Western bank operating here said on Wednesday that it would be leaving. Piles of cash equaling about a quarter of Afghanistan’s annual economic output were physically carried out of Afghanistan last year.

I just do not get it. If those people know how bad their life is going to be under the Taliban then why do they not fight to defeat them?

*Vietnam all over again regardless of what they say

Syria: Several dead despite the cease-fire as troops, tanks deploy in cities

Syrian truce fragile as troops, tanks deploy in cities: A UN-backed ceasefire that took effect in Syria at dawn is only being "partially observed" as heavy weapons and government troops remain deployed in cities, the main opposition movement said on Thursday. "The ceasefire is... only partially observed... To us it is clear that ceasefire implied withdrawal of all heavy weaponry from cities, populated areas. This has not happened."

Syria: Several dead despite the cease-fire: The start of the cease-fire in Syria under the Annan plan on Thursday did not end the violence in Syria. Forces loyal to the Syrian regime attacked in the north while dozens of arrests were made. At least nine people were killed. One civilian was killed on the road to the city of Mharde in the province of Hama, either by shooting of security forces or or by the Shabbiha" (pro-regime militias), according to Rami Abdel Rahman, president of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).

The first assessment BY the Syrian National Council (SNC), the main opposition to the regime of Bashar al-Assad, speaks about violations.. "We find that heavy weapons are still in residential areas," said the spokesman of SNC Bassma Kodmani. "Some have simply been repositioned," he added. According to the Syrian public television, an army officer was killed and 24 people were injured in Aleppo,

Opposition activists: Syrian troops, military defectors clash near Turkey: Syrian troops clashed with defecting soldiers Friday near the border with Turkey, opposition activists said, violating a cease-fire that went into effect a day earlier. The clashes occurred in the Kherbet Joz village, which borders Turkey. Both sides have reported cases of scattered violence since the cease-fire was implemented at dawn Thursday, but the border clashes are the first major violation, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Syria is not in full compliance with the peace plan, and troops and heavy weapons remain in population centers despite an agreement to withdraw, said Susan Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.
There have been reports of many dead!

Clinton proposes missile shield to protect GCC, with the EU and Russia protected we have something here

Clinton proposes missile shield to protect GCC: Hillary Rodham Clinton, US Secretary of State, who met with the foreign ministers of the six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) here yesterday, proposed a strong missile shield to protect Gulf Arab states from Tehran and sought to work with them to help end the violence in Iran's ally Syria. Clinton said: “It is a US priority to help the GCC build a regional missile defense architecture” against what that country sees as a looming ballistic missile threat from Iran.

Now I can see this going someplace. I only hope this is not another facade. We hear a lot of negative bellicose rhetoric from Medvedev of ate once again over our missile defense shield. I also happen to have like it when President Obama was supposedly "caught on an open mike" when he said to Medvedev "after I am reelected I will have more leeway to debate on the missile shield" I think he said it on purpose and I also believe absolutely that the republicans have already guaranteed a reelection.

Part of NATO missile defense goes live : The station is located in the city of Malatya, about 400 miles southeast of the capital Ankara, and is manned by both Turkish and U.S. personnel, the spokesman said. Turkey is one of five countries that have agreed to deploy parts of the U.S.-designed defense system. Portugal, Poland, Romania and Spain have also agreed to participate.

I remember a couple months back when Iran said as soon as the site in Turkey was on line it would be a valid target for Iran. I also just caught that Russia and the United States are pretty close to an agreement on being partners on the MDS. The only problem now is getting the US to put on paper that Russia is not a target. That should not be a problem one way or the other. Sign the damn paper.

Medvedev suggests Europe missile defense plan

Russia has said it wants to take part in the proposed NATO-backed anti-missile shield in Europe.

Russia stated clearly“NATO poses no threat to Russia”

After the Berlin wall fell we kept hearing that the cold war was over. The cold war was not over, it just got colder and moved further underground every time Bush threatened and Putin responded with weapons improvements to meet his threat. This could only happen under Presidents Obama and Medvedev, with Putin back in we have to be more wary. After the war mongering of Bush and the ramping up of Putin to take him on, I am psyched at least the whole missile shield thing seems to be coming together. It looks to me like the only ones of consequence to be left out altogether is China and Iran. What am I missing?

Russia is actually agreeing NATO poses no threat to her and agreeing to work with NATO on the European defense shield splitting Europe's defense shield so they would be responsible for half of Europe. I finally feel the cold war with Russia is over and very pleased it is because China's star is rising and they are increasingly the threat the US, NATO, and Russia must unify against a growing threat?

Over 3 years ago after Obama met with Dmitri Medvedev and proposed Russia and the US press the reset button after the mess Bush made of Russian US relations. I am happy to see they have under Medvedev. We have unity with Obama and Medvedev instead of the race to war with Putin and Bush! Obama started this new detente, this new cooperation as had to be the case to send the message. Obama was criticized for it by Republicans as usual but it was the right thing to do. I am glad to see Russia under Medvedev has picked up the baton but what about Putin.

I like the way this new relationship has been! Put the onus on Russia! Put them to the test and advertise it to the world. Supposedly Russia views the expansion of the alliance to include former Soviet republics as a direct threat to Russian interests but are ready again to seek together responses to modern challenges and threats to international security.

NATO is not a threat to Russia. We need Russia as an ally to fight the so called war on terror in Afghanistan and around the world and to successfully proceed through the 21st century. Remind Russia of their past desire to join NATO and offer it to them. There is only one choice! end all this! Invite Russia to join NATO. This is not a new idea. Once upon a time, it was openly entertained in diplomatic circles East and West. In late 1991, the final days of the U.S.S.R Boris Yeltsin stunned a NATO meeting by sending a letter with this unilateral declaration: "Today we are raising a question of Russia's membership in NATO.

Even Putin, in his first days in the Kremlin, seized on the issue. Instead of taking the perfect opportunity to unite the world Reagan and at least the Bush's chose to make a worse enemy of Russia and widen the gap between the west and Russia by instigating them to war.We had the perfect opportunity to unite the world in peace and our past leaders chose to divide it further by trying to rule the world.

We must put an end to this desire to rearm to fight each other, threaten each other, dominate each other. World unity is the only way for a successful future. As China's fortune rises and she is increasingly emboldened not just in Asia but with the US and around the world it is increasingly apparent we are going to need Russia and our future lies with Russia.

Nato chief proposed missile shield to protect Russia too and it is now expected to pass, I'm psyched!
Nato chief proposes missile shield to include Russia

The announcement was made by President Dmitry Medvedev at the Franco-German-Russian summit being held in Deauville, France. Medvedev also accepted an invitation to attend a NATO summit This is almost the best news I ever heard! Can anyone tell me if if came to fruition yet?

Remember when speaking at a conference in Brussels Nato chief Anders Fogh Rasmussen called for a new missile defense system that would protect the US and its allies, and include Russia as well. I am psyched! I keep saying in every regard but in regard to the war on terror in Pakistan and Afghanistan every day things get better and better. So to is the case with Russia, NATO, and US relations.

Ever since Obama pressed the reset button the relationship between Russia, NATO, and the US has been improving. This proposal is bold because Obama has been trying for months now to illicit Russian cooperation in the new missile shield system. This is good for NATO and hard for Russia to turn down. This is great!
Include our so called middle east allies under a protective veil and I really think we have something here if it works.

We keep hearing from the war mongers on the right that that when Obama went with the AEGIS and scrapped Bush's war mongering plan that we gave Russia the farm and screwed America and Europe. Quite the opposite is true and you hear it from the horses mouth! This is a win for everyone! Russia now knows they are not the target and have started being productive partners. All of Europe are winners as Russia's nukes will not be turned on them. The reset button has obviously been reset and we are seeing positive results from it every day.

NATO's fifth charter comes into play if clashes with Syria get worse and it will

Syria Cease-Fire Unlikely After Cross-Border Attacks: a quick end to the violence looked dim after Syrian forces opened fire across two tense borders the day before. The violence killed a television cameraman in Lebanon and at least two people at a refugee camp in Turkey.

Clashes as Syria deadline arrives: Shelling was reported in Homs early on Tuesday, and there were clashes on the Turkish and Lebanese border overnight. More than 100 people - many of them civilians - were killed on Monday, reports say. Damascus had agreed to the deadline but insisted on written guarantees first that its opponents would give up arms.

Syrians cower in Turkish camp as bullets and fear draw closer: "What is frightening is how close the Syrian army is getting to our camps, we can look through the fence and see them out there. Obviously for people fleeing the regime that is the last thing you want to see at night," added the scrawny young man with a long black beard.

Refugees at the Kilis camp said they had shouted "you dogs, you dogs of Bashar" as they watched two Syrian soldiers loyal to Assad run towards an object in the tall grass outside the camp, shoot at it with machine guns, and then pull what looked like a bullet-proof vest from a body. The body, that of a wounded rebel who had tried to crawl over the border to safety, was still lying there in no man's land, Tarek said, a grim warning of the risks such fighters face.
You know those so called soldier are just as likely to be Hezbollah and Iranian Revolutionary Guard masochists!

Observers say NATO's fifth charter comes into play if clashes with Syria get worse: Most observers said if an armed attack occurs at the Turkish-Syrian border, NATO members might take action to assist the attacked ally. Erdoğan said Turkey may consider invoking NATO’s fifth article to protect the national security of Turkey in the face of increasing tension along the Syrian border. His comments came after four Syrians, who fled to Turkey from the violence in Syria, were killed by Syrian forces targeting refugees on the Turkish side of the border on Monday.
“NATO has the responsibility to protect the Turkish borders,” said Erdoğan, signaling that Turkey may officially ask NATO members for the application of Article 5 of the NATO Charter, which says an attack on any member shall be considered to be an attack on all, if the situation in Syria becomes unbearable for Turkish national security. The article was invoked by the US for the first time in October 2001, when NATO determined that the terrorist attacks on the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City were indeed eligible under the terms of the North Atlantic Treaty.

The Syrian people are being sacrificed in this the opening volley in the war against US hegemony!

Russia and China have strongly opposed the US in Syria and Iran.

Syria is battleground for Russia and US: Under Putin, Moscow's objections to foreign interventions in the Middle East will grow. A Sunni-Shiite standoff in the region will complicate issues. The winds of a second Cold War are blowing across the Middle East, more than two decades after the collapse of the Berlin Wall and the ensuing unravelling of the Soviet Union.

This time Moscow is looking to reassert its role and influence in a Middle East that is polarised along new geopolitical divides, initially created as a result of direct US military intervention in Iraq eight years ago and deepening later following the tumultuous Arab Spring in 2011. The battleground for the new confrontation between Russia and the United States is Syria, which has been embroiled in a popular anti-regime uprising for more than a year. Moscow has adopted a tough line in support of its old and last ally in the Arab world.
Well no shit dick tracy, you're a little slow here and it is much worse than this. Why do you think Putin stole his way back in as President in the first place?

Russia's weapons are being used to slaughter the people and they brag about it. Those are the only weapons Russia will allow. French President Nicolas Sarkozy likened Syrian leader Bashar Assad to a "murderer" while Russia said it was arming his regime enabling him to slaughter his people

The Syrian people are being sacrificed in this the opening volley not just in the middle east but in the world against US hegemony! That is the only reason Putin got himself back into the Russian Presidency. The sole goal is to finish what was started under him and George Bush when he was gathering forces amongst Russia, China, the 35 non aligned nations and anyone else interested in stopping our efforts to rule the world.

Hezbollah and Iran's IRG armed by Russia have taken the lead in slaughtering the Syrian people to keep them and Bashar Al assad in control. This is just the opening volley in the war against US hegemony. Sorry to say but those Syrian people are being sacrificed in an opening volley for the war for position to see who holds prominence as we try to move through the 21st century.

I remember saying a year ago that the Syrian protesters are the bravest in the world as they know they at the least are facing dedicated Syrian and Iranian Revolutionary Guard killers and now we find out we were right on and then some. I know the protesters vowed not to be deterred stating they will break the Government period but there is no way. The Syrian Government will kill and arrest who they have too. Iran will accept nothing less!

I remember the Syrian opposition saying that they would not stop and would ultimately defeat the Government saying Democratic transition would safeguard Syria from violence. As outsiders looking in we know nothing could be further from the truth. People are being imprisoned and murdered and I can not see that stopping until the Democracy movement is crushed. Supposedly this expected situation is begging for us to get involved but we damn well better not. Unless that is going to war with Iran is the goal.

I remember saying from day one that it would take almost the whole military to defect before they would have a chance and now that we know how involved Russia, Iran and Hezbollah are in the slaughtering that is going on around the country that is beginning to look like the beginning of their fight.

U.S., Australia to broaden military ties even further

TONY JONES, Australian Broadcasting: Now, do you support the idea of using the Cocos Islands as an air base for US surveillance aircraft? DAVID JOHNSTON: Oh, absolutely. I think our closest ally, if they're prepared to assist us in the management of what is a huge maritime frontier, I would welcome that and I know the Coalition would welcome that.

TONY JONES: There does seem to be a plan to either replace or supplement Diego Garcia, to build another version of it possibly. We should note that the US Navy operates that base in Diego Garcia for warships. It also has a military air base there under lease from Britain. So would a Coalition government be prepared to undertake a similar arrangement with the United States in the Cocos Islands?

Cocos Island - Image Results It is absolutely gorgeous and geographically placed to spy on China!

U.S. wants to use India in missile shield against Russia, China

The United States wants a prominent role in Asia to counter China's developing aggression The U.S. move to "return to Asia" aims to gain more interests from Asia's regional development and cement its dominant position in Asia. First, it should learn to get along with China. Its "return" to Asia has drawn people's attention back to a possible confrontation between itself and China. Many Western scholars believe that the reassertion of the leading U.S. role in Asia is directed against China because only China's rise can pose a potential challenge to its hegemony. Furthermore, a few Asian countries hope to take advantage of the United States, especially its military power, to strike a so-called strategic balance with China.

US and Australia Seal Expanded Military Ties: The United States will have an increased and constant military presence on the continent’s north side, symbolizing America’s renewed security interests in the Pacific Rim. The first deployment of 200 to 250 Marines will begin next year, they said, and the United States will increase its air and naval movements in an area about 500 miles from Indonesia.

While the deployment is small compared to the scale of American forces long based in the North Pacific in Japan and South Korea, it looms larger as a symbol that the United States — encouraged by Australia and southeast Asian nations — will act as a check on a rising and assertive China. On a parallel track, the United States and other Pacific Rim nations are negotiating for a free-trade bloc that does not include China.

China plays a more important role in Asia and around the world as she gains strength militarily and economically as we just discussed. All of Asia has become a nervous wreck as China has been threatening all their Nations, expanding her military, and threatening them all to let China have a;ll the contested Islands and surrounding oceans and their unclaimed mineral rights. That is not going to work and will only bring more of an increased US military presence to try to bring a balance of power in Asia and to protect the rest of Asia reaching out to us for protection.

With that said we must maintain as much of the old world balance and order as we can to maintain a balance as we try to move progressively and successfully through the 21st century! I know of China and Japan's past, I know of the still ongoing Island disputes, the disagreement over natural gas in another area of the East China Sea, I also remember that with China's economic clout rising she took the number 3 seat on the world bank and we talk constantly that China is taking the leading role in Asia and Asia relations.

Being in a superior position puts one in a unique position of power and that power must be handled gracefully, with humility, responsibly, and not abused. That is something I taught all my sons and America under Bush did a lousy job of handling. I am a little worried that China too is getting a little too heavy handed and abusive with her new position of power and beginning to take what she wants instead of being content with what she has which is what I constantly lecture has to be the case if we are to have a future. The time when man and the planet could handle war and colonialism is over, period or else!

We are Taiwan's and Japan's protectors. As China flex's their military muscles in the area we are not supposed to worry. Just what are we supposed to think they are going to do with their advanced weaponry, missiles, stealth aircraft, aircraft carriers and the like. Their threats are going to become more ominous until they cannot be ignored and it is too late. We have been here before. The world was not supposed to worry as Hitler built his arsenal and we know how that turned out.

I can only see this ending badly but what the hell do we do? The middle east breakdown is still in its infancy too. Damn!

Executions on the Rise Around the World after being in the decline. Look at the guilty countries, there is no wonder

Executions on the Rise Around the World: Only 10% of countries carried out executions last year, but those employing the death penalty are doing so at an alarming rate, a new report says. According to Amnesty International's annual review of death sentences and executions, the number of countries using capital punishment in 2011 was 20, a decrease of more than a third compared to 10 years ago.
Some 18,750 people faced death sentences at the end of 2011, while at least 676 people were executed across the world, the report said. It claimed thousands of people were executed in China in 2011, more than the rest of the world put together. The rights group says it has stopped publishing figures it collects from public sources in China, as "these are likely to grossly underestimate the true number." Chinese authorities could not be immediately reached for comment.

The number of executions carried out around the world jumped last year, largely due to a surge in use of the death penalty in Iran, Iraq and Saudi Arabia, Amnesty International said on Tuesday. The rights group said at least 676 people were executed in 20 countries in 2011 compared with 527 executions in 23 countries in 2010, a 28 percent increase. Confirmed executions in the Middle East rose by almost 50 percent last year to 558, it said in an annual report on the death penalty. Methods of execution used around the world included beheading, hanging, lethal injection and shooting.

In 2011 we reported that in 2010 executions were down. At that time China, Iran, North Korea, Yemen, and the United States led the world in carrying out the most death sentences. Amnesty International: Death penalty on decline, US in top 5 That's quite the company to be proud of isn't it?

While we're on the subject of Democracy I wonder why Bush didn't mention Saudi Arabia's nasty habit of be-headings when he was over there begging for more oil? I know Democracies can be different but that doesn't sound Democratic to me! Saudi authorities beheaded an Indonesian maid convicted of killing her employer, the Interior Ministry announced. In a statement carried by the official Saudi Press Agency, the ministry said the maid used a pillow to suffocate her employer Aisha Al Makhaled and then stole her jewelry in the southern province of Asir.

Saudi Arabia follows a strict interpretation of Islam under which those convicted of murder, drug trafficking, rape and armed robbery are executed in public with a sword. The maid was the second person to be executed that year in the desert kingdom, according to an Associated Press count. ** Saudi Arabia beheaded 137 people last year (2008), up sharply from the 38 in 2006. That's a great move towards Democracy isn't it? Saudi Arabia's Beheading Culture - CBS News

Man in the middle east they seem to enjoy putting people to death. In the link above you see they often video tape be-headings and they shrug off the be-headings saying it is humane and less painful than other methods. Most of the deaths were attributed to 4 countries, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Iran and North Africa. Think about this. When you look at what is going on around the world and certainly North Africa and the middle east, the number of 676 people being executed is laughable.

It must be semantics! I know it is not often hangings or be-headings but what do they call the thousand killed in Africa due too border, tribal, or religious differences? What about Afghanistan where Taliban killings of civilians is a common occurrence? What about Libya? What about Syria and the 10000 civilians that we know about slaughtered "executed" by their Government?

I am sure the numbers in every one of these countries would be increased exponentially if the truth was told. I am sure we are talking hundreds of thousands not 676. Amnesty does not use China's numbers because they are a lie, you can just imagine. Last year we were talking about executions going down. This year we are talking of an increase. I am afraid we should be saying they are sky rocketing and there does not appear to be anything we can do about it. I am also convinced as you may be, that the numbers will rise drastically as conditions in the middle east continue to degenerate as they will.

BP is moving forward drilling in the Arctic with a Russian company "disastrous" plus Shell working on US okay. OMG!

BP is still going to be drilling in the Arctic but now with a Russian company with a more disastrous record plus Shell is also still going forward. What a frigging nightmare! Read the story at the link and Shell is filling us with the same crap that BP did. They can handle it, it's safe, my ass!

“Although Greenland last year refused drilling concessions to BP because it lacked rigorous enough safety protocols, BP appears to have found a more willing back door to the pristine Arctic environment via the Russian firm Rosneft,” said Ivan Blokov, Campaign Director, Greenpeace Russia."Given that in 2009 alone, Rosneft had 12,000 pipeline breaks, 7526 of which resulted in oil leaks, it would be an understatement to say we are concerned about these two companies operating together in Arctic.” This is scary stuff! Man this is still too close to home and a disaster in the making. They are destroying our frigging world at an ever increasing rate.

Remember when Mexico Gulf disaster was going on? Look what they were going to do for us. A Russian company doing this scares the hell out of me. The U.S. Government confirmed the drilling “pause” does not apply to BP’s new project, called Liberty. BP is going to build a small 5 acre island and drill down 2 miles before drilling 6 to 8 miles sideways in another never before done scheme? No way, come on! This boondoggle is still scheduled to go ahead despite their terrible record of so called accidents and disregard for following common sense? despite that blow out valves fail 40% of the time?"

Royal Dutch Shell's bid to drill in the Arctic this summer took another step forward on Friday when the U.S. Interior Department approved its oil spill response plan for the Chukchi Sea.

“The deep-water moratorium we had in place did not apply to this particular project, which would have been based from a man-made island and would have potentially been drilling directionally into formations under shallow water. If drilling permit applications were submitted for the project, the Department of the Interior would have reviewed them at the appropriate time and determine, based on safety and other considerations, whether the project should move forward with drilling under federal waters,” said Kendra Barkoff, a spokesperson for the U.S. Department of the Interior. What the hell is wrong with us to even think of this? Our desperation is grotesquely misplaced!

So they’re really going to even consider a project as complicated as this one involving a drill down two miles, then turn and bore another six to eight miles more to get to oil on Federally owned land. BP? They can not be stupid enough to trust them in the country let alone drilling more precariously than the disaster they just created.

Someone better hit the stop button! Remember Bush and Cheney's secret White House meetings with the so called energy czars? Remember, the rest of the world by law must use an acoustic valve in case of emergency that would have prevented this. Since oil ran this country Bush and Cheney decided at 1/2 million per valve it was too expensive for oil companies as profit and cutting corners was their only goal not the people and the environment. All inspections of drilling and platforms stopped in 2001. Obama's mistake was not re instituting them instantly but he better do it before he lets those idiots drill in the Arctic.

Remember where life began! We have allowed BP to unleash a volcano of death in the bottom of our chain of life killing life in the ocean that gave life to us. We can not let them add the Arctic to their list of nightmares. Our planet is shrinking. The planet is one life system and everything is interconnected, everything affected by everything else eventually. As I taught my kids, the ocean is like a giant washing machine. What goes around eventually comes around. Why can't people ever look at the big picture, see the big picture, or think of the repercussions of their actions before they act? Engage brain before moving!

BP has done absolutely nothing right period from the get go or the disaster in the Gulf never would have happened. They obviously have never used the necessary technology to deal with this disaster they just got the equipment so they could use the lie that they were prepared. Nothing has gone right! Minimizing the ecological damage and helping the people whose lives they have destroyed they could care less about. Minimizing their financial liability and staying in control of their disaster is all that matters. We can not let them ply their destruction in the Arctic too!

Now unbeknownst to me we plan on allowing Chevron to drill in the Arctic too. We know what happened in the Gulf of Mexico and we see the still unfolding nightmare from the disaster in the North sea with oil and deadly gas thrown in. Why do we seem to be racing to destroy the planet. It can only take so much and we have made a horrible mess to date. Why not hydrogen and or natural gas as a major energy replacement? We have to stop this if it is not too lat already!
