A Government Report says Al Qaeda worse today than since 9/11. Bush of course says it's better, Sees Iraq interim report with 10 failures as cause for optimism, everyone else failure! Listen to Obama's solution!
I just first want to say that I heard an absolutely stunning statement this morning in relation to the Vietnam Wall Memorial that makes one take stark note of Bush's insistence in staying in Iraq's civil war that he caused, after he was told numerous times that it would fail and he couldn't win militarily. Please let me put the days developments in contrast first.
First, as I woke to the alarm this morning I had the pleasure of waking to hear an interview on WBZ of Barack Obama and what a President Obama would do in Iraq. I was pretty happy when I heard him say that he would call together the Joint Chiefs that Bush ignored and listen to their advice first.
He called For a phased withdrawal, no permanent U.S. Bases, and the withdrawal to begin within 2 months of his time in office. Please listen to it, it is better than this and short. http://wbz1030.com/...
Then I heard that a Government Report is reporting that Al Qaeda is stronger today than it was in 2001 as we all knew it would be. But of course Bush knows better! The report reports that Al Qaeda is the strongest it has been since the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, a new U.S. government analysis concludes, according to a senior government official who has seen it.
The five-page intelligence analysis remains classified and was prepared for senior U.S. policy makers. It was not issued in response to a specific threat. Two intelligence officials said the report's finding are similar to what is expected to be in the National Intelligence Estimate anticipated to be released later this summer. The NIE is the intelligence community's collective analysis of pressing national security issues.
http://www.cnn.com/...
They both see a resurgence and re strengthening of what they call Al Qaeda. Most of us knew they would and that this is just getting started. After six years of bragging, artificial successes, and fear mongering, his so called successes which are only designed to allow him to further his war against Islamists as he attempts his prosecution of middle east order and not theirs.
As we all bear witness, Bush is succeeding. Now you know why he can brag of success! As we expected not only are there more Islamists which he denies of course, They are more diverse and dedicated to our destruction, while being deadlier and farther underground as an average idiot would have expected but of course Bush is no "average idiot"
Then I had it worsened by hearing Bush's misinterpretation of the interim progress report. With 10 of the 18 benchmarks of success being deemed as failures, I would say it is worse than that but The president is pleading for more patience saying stupidly that this is call for optimism. "He's not really offering a new prescription to deal with the violence on the ground in Iraq. Instead he's urging lawmakers to give him until September to see if the current troop increase will work. We know it will not work except to have our military in place when needed elsewhere in the middle east.
During his news conference the president commented on the nation's psyche, declaring, "There's war fatigue in America. It's affecting our psychology. I understand that. This is an ugly war. It's a war in which an enemy will kill innocent men, women and children in order to achieve a political objective. It doesn't surprise me that there is deep concern amongst our people." He is being commended for using the term war fatigue. I have heard him use it before but the biggest problem is not war fatigue but "Bush Fatigue"
Finally Bush says Congress should not be trying to run the war but neither should he. As I remember, he didn't complain about the Republican Congress doing it.
http://www.cnn.com/...
Before I get to the most striking mention of Vietnam to what is happening in Iraq with Bush I just want to mention that here is the entire White House Benchmark Report if you are interested.
http://i.a.cnn.net/...
Now this absolutely stunned me when I heard it this morning on WBZ Radio. In regard to Bush in my mind declaring "mission complete" on the aircraft Carrier after the initial surge into Baghdad I have to think about that but knowing for years now Bush has been advised by many that he cannot win militarily in Iraq as we know and he still insists on keeping our troops in this growing civil war, I heard this and it blew me away.
We always hear Iraq being compared to Vietnam but this morning I heard that Lyndon Johnson was told he could not win militarily for the first time in 1966. 95% of all the names on the Vietnam war "wall" memorial were put on there as a result of continuing the war after he was told he couldn't win militarily in 1966.
Bush is mirroring Vietnam and worse in every way, including in this respect.

All I heard was A face to face Demand for the truth and no more Blind Backing of Bush's so called New Order!
I see Michael Moore has been recieving some attention here but I just want to discuss the truth finally getting some air time. The video which I recommend seeing if you haven't yet is at the end of this story. I had the good fortune last night to catch the interview of Michael Moore by Wolf Blitzer. After a three year hiatus Michael was primed. I was pretty impressed at his performance. He was there to discuss his latest movie "Sicko" He begrudgingly did that but he kept reverting to his movie Fahrenheit 911: and the lies that were told about that movie and he never recieved requested apologies for being right..
I can't really say I have seen either one but I do remember the reviews of Fahrenheit 911 and CNN and Fox amongst others refuting what Michael was saying about 9/11. I thought Mike was on top of the interview and in control. He pointed out that everything he said in Fahrenheit about the WMD and numerous other lies that were trumpeted on major media turned out to be true as many of us have always asserted ourselves.
He kept asking Blitzer why he did not apologize to him and the American people for not telling the truth, being a mouthpiece for the numerous lies we continue to be told, and admit that they were wrong. Michael was right but despite the many apology requests I don't believe I ever heard it. I do believe Michael and the American people are owed a major apology by the media and everyone else that is supposed to be serving America and the American people. The constant misrepresentation of the truth allowing Bush to continue on his mis course to me just proved that despite Bush's complaints, the media has up to now been in his pocket and cowardly complacent to him and his mis agenda. they too bear the blame for where we are today.
As Michael pointed out, it took 4 years before the truth started being told about Bush, Cheney, and much of the corruption and underhanded activities coming right from the top in this Mis Administration. Iraq and the health care industry are only 2 of the endless corruptive lies we have all been fed since some fools elected Bush. I really was impressed to hear the truth demanded by someone who stands a chance to get heard and make a difference. I can only hope that those like Michael Moore will continue to speak up and start to make a real difference so we can get "our America" back and get back on track.
I have the transcripts for the two part interview of Moore but watching this 3 minute video must be seen and enjoyed He was fired up and demanding that the media tell the truth, level with the American People, and apologize to him as Fahrenheit proved to be spot on in every respect and not the lies they reported for Bush. The myriad of subjects we are all too familiar with.

Another missed Recruiting quota: Blamed on Mommy factor, numerous extended deployments, unfit kids?
This morning my alarm went off amidst a discussion on WBZ that the army missed its recruiting goal for the 2nd month in a row despite loosening its standards even more on obesity, education standards, and police records. believe it or not the commentator blamed it on what he called "The Mommy Factor"
Gee Mom's don't want their children joining Bush's new world order and his illegal war in Iraq to be misused and abused? Gee, why wouldn't they want their children fighting and dying in his lost cause as my own are doing? With the promise of an opportunity to get physically or mentally messed up not to speak of getting killed, what would they be against? Is it the promise of more wars to come?
I decided I wanted to discuss this so I found the story and was quite surprised at a few facts I found unbelievable. Finding out that the Army had missed its recruiting goals two months in a row makes sense when you know the truth as to what is going on and how bad this is going to get before too long but!
With that in mind and the ever increasing tours of duty, increasing tour lengths, and multiple deployments, and booming job outlook, I was pretty surprised to see that the very over used Marines and much over used and abused Army Reserves and National Guard had no problem meeting their quotas. I find that a bit surprising to say the least but that wasn't the most surprising and disturbing thing I heard.
First, Lt. Col. Dan Baggio an Army spokesman said they are not concerned yet but I say they better be. I was also surprised to see that that the numbers of soldiers signing up for additional years of service was strong then I remembered why. In April we talked about The struggle to entice Army soldiers and Marines to stay in the military, after four years of war in Iraq, has ballooned into a $1 billion campaign, with bonuses soaring nearly six fold since 2003. The size and number of bonuses have grown as officials scramble to meet the steady demand for troops on the battlefields in Iraq and Afghanistan and reverse sporadic shortfalls in the number of National Guard and Reserve soldiers willing to sign on for multiple tours.
Besides underscoring the extraordinary steps the Pentagon must take to maintain fighting forces, the rise in costs for reenlistment incentives is putting strains on the defense budget, already strapped by the massive costs of waging war and equipping and caring for a modern military. The bonuses can range from a few thousand dollars to as much as $150,000 for very senior special forces soldiers who reenlist for six years. All told, the Army and Marines spent $1.03 billion for reenlistment payments last year, compared with $174 million in 2003, the year the war in Iraq began.
That just reminded me that I also heard this morning that Bush's wars are costing $12 Billion per month. Anyway, The recruiting downturn is particularly worrisome to Pentagon officials, especially because it has come in the summer, when recruiters normally find more fresh high school graduates eager to join. So despite increasing recruitment efforts and spending I see this as a beginning trend as kids would rather stay home and be safe. Knowing they are amidst a drive to enlarge the military by another 33,000 personnel they better be very concerned.
It was this last little statistic that amazed me. They were concerned about it from a recruitment standpoint but I am very concerned purely from the stand point of being a member of this society. Colonel Baggio pointed out that Recruiting had been hurt by the fact that 7 in 10 potential recruits in their late teens and early 20s do not meet Army standards, largely because they are too heavy or failed to graduate from high school.
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/10/washington/10military.html?_r=1&oref=slogin
That blew me away! 70% of recruiting age youth are unfit for military duty? That is just stunning. That is a pretty limited pool for sure. I almost wish my own sons were in this category. Anyway, with tours increasing in quantity and length and more Bush wars to come, they better start being concerned but to me I guess that is a vote for obesity or dummying up. With Bush's warmongering and efforts to instigate and fight his way to new world order, this all adds up to a world of concern to me. What do you think?

Iraqi civil war progresses as expected, war with Iran warned by Iraqi al Qaeda, middle east breakdown progressing!
Right from the very beginning we expected at the very least a total breakdown in Iraq as a result of Bush's attack and it is now openly being fueled by the Iraqi Government. Iraqi Al Qaeda has also come out and warned that if Iran continued killing Sunni's in Iraq that they would go to war with Iran.
This is just one more expected development Bush ignored so he could get our troops into the middle east in order to create his so called new middle east order. This entire breakdown is still just getting started and will not be stopped.
This development though is interesting knowing Bush too wants to attack Iran and I expect it to happen this fall. Very interesting knowing now that a front group of Al Qaeda in Iraq has also threatened war with Iran if they continue involvement in Iraq.
To me it poses the obvious question of whether or not the CIA or others are in bed with Al Qaeda egging them on to attack Iran. Anyway amidst ever increasing so called Sectarian violence and increasing calls from Democrats for a troop withdrawal Iraq's foreign minister Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari warned on Monday that a quick American military withdrawal from the country could lead to a full-scale civil war, the collapse of the government and spill over conflicts across the region.
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/4952035.html
It is too late to stop, look around! Turkey is also worried and has massed 140,000 soldiers at Iraq's northern border as we know, where the rebel Kurdistan Workers Party, or PKK, has bases and launches attacks on Turkish forces. "Turkey's fears are legitimate but such things can be discussed," Zebari said. "The perfect solution is the withdrawal of the Turkish forces from the borders."
Then we have Iraqi calls for the arming of civilians to fight insurgents, reflecting the growing frustration with Iraqi security forces' inability to prevent extremists' attacks like Saturday's devastating suicide truck bombing in the Shiite town of Armili, north of Baghdad, that killed more than 150 people, according to the latest toll from police and officials.
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,288624,00.html
Then it gets worse! While Sunni leaders are calling for citizens to pick up arms to protect themselves we have Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, who leads the group Islamic State in Iraq , saying his Sunni fighters have been preparing for four years to wage a battle against Shiite-dominated Iran.
"We are giving the Persians, and especially the rulers of Iran, a two-month period to end all kinds of support for the Iraqi Shiite government and to stop direct and indirect intervention ... otherwise a severe war is waiting for you," he said in the 50-minute audio tape released Sunday. The tape, which could not be independently verified, was posted on a Web site commonly used by insurgent groups. Of course Iran denies any support.
Iraq's Shiite-led government is backed by the U.S. but closely allied to Iran. The United States accuses Iran of arming and financing Shiite militias in Iraq. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,288600,00.html
It absolutely stuns me that amidst this growing explosion that Bush started and as expected will end up as a battle for the middle east between Shiite and Sunni with the poor Kurds in serious trouble we have Bush wanting to stay in the middle of this until he can find his excuse to attack Iran too so he can further his version of a new middle east order. It is mind blowing that Bush wants a Korea style force left in Iraq. It will only serve to be another Custer's last stand and serve to rally citizens behind Bush's failed efforts.
This was a doomed effort from the get go and it will not be turned around regardless of the Partisan rhetoric Period. Nothing is happening today as the entire middle east prepares to be embroiled, that Bush didn't know before hand and chose to ignore so he could do "Gods work" and be the Christian Crusader to "straighten out" the middle east. bush's middle east mess is very rapidly coming to a head.

Bush never fails to Disappoint and Disgust us, Yesterdays Presidential Address was worse than ever!
I absolutely hate listening to or seeing Bush. However with the ignorance he spews forth every day it is absolutely imperative that we summon the strength and listen to it so we can get out the truth. Yesterday during his weekly radio address he showed that as he gets more desperate to follow his ill course he showed he is getting more ignorant and arrogant by the day. He said the Nation's strong economy is the result of the hard work of the American people and pro-growth policies in Washington. He still refuses to admit there are two economies so he can continue his plan for new societal order. His economy is doing great. The average American's is getting increasingly worse as he helps the upper level of society and makes it increasingly harder for average Americans to survive on a level they are accustomed.
Bush actually bragged that his mis Administration delivered the largest tax relief since Ronald Reagan was in the White House. I don't know about you but I didn't see any of that money.
He said his tax relief has left $1.1 trillion in the hands of citizens like you to save, and spend, and invest as you see fit. Well, you know citizens like you is not you and I. He is not addressing average Americans he is addressing the affluent. It is so obvious what this guy is doing and he just flat out gets away with it.
He forgot to mention he gave the affluent back $1.1 trillion while he gave the average American trillions in debt to pay off after he leaves so his economy does appear great. He said we have overcome a stock market decline. I don't remember that only that it is climbing precipitously and artificially higher and it will crash. That recession he talked about overcoming is getting worse by the day for many Americans as their lifestyle increasingly recede due to his successful economy.
He also bragged about surviving the demands of the war on terror. I don't know what the percentage of his corruption and demands from his war in Iraq figure in that but I bet it is the majority of it. Then Bush got to the ignorant point of his undeserved bragging.
He said that next week, his misAdministration will release a report called the Mid-Session Review, which will provide us with an update on our Nation's progress in meeting the goal of a balanced budget. Yhep not balancing the Budget will be our fault too. As I remember, his plan calls for a balanced Budget on someone else's watch in 2012.
He took time before he got to the ignorant low blow and said that we know from experience that when we pursue policies of low taxes and spending restraint, the economy grows, tax revenues go up, and the deficit goes down. I don't know about that but I only see spending abuse by him but on what he wants and it seems counter to common sense if you ask me. That whole statement makes no sense to me.
Then he got to his ignorant aim! He said Democratic leaders in Congress want to take our country down a different track. Yes, we do, the right track and like he is right now with his pointed lying rhetoric he will continue to derail those efforts so he can continue down the wrong road.
He said we are working to bring back the failed tax-and-spend policies of the past. If that is what they call Clinton's policy I thought it worked rather well myself. I don't remember hearing any complaints. He went on to say the Democrats' budget plan proposes $205 billion in additional domestic spending over the next five years and includes the largest tax increase in history. I have to hope the majority of those increases are necessary to "our America" and not Bush's and that is why he does not agree with them. He said no nation has ever taxed and spent its way to prosperity. I don't know about that but I don't believe you can give the wealthy back their taxes and incur trillions in debt and call that success with a straight face. Of course once again he threatened a veto if we took the right road for "our America" and not his.
He went on to accuse the Democrats of holding up 12 important must pass Bills. Again they must be important to his new idea of America and not the one we all grew up in and want back.
He called his moment a test. Under our Constitution, Congress holds the power of the purse. Democratic leaders are in control of Congress. I have to hope they handle the responsibility a lot better than the Republicans did. He tried to blame blocking his idiocy on Democrats being irresponsible. He said they set the schedule for when bills are considered. They determine when votes are held. That means they are being blocked for good reason so keep it up.
He said Democrats have a chance to prove they are for open and transparent government while as you know, him and Republicans showed they are for closed Government and hidden spending and agenda's. As they do, I will insist they restrain spending so we can keep our government running — while sustaining our growing economy and getting our budget into balance. He lastly said that by setting clear budget priorities and maintaining strong fiscal discipline, we can promote economic growth and bring our budget into balance.
If that is true then under his misAdministration how could we honestly have had a successful economy unless as many of us think, it is just another facade and the truth will hit us hard when Bush is gone and again Democrats will get the blame for his failures. http://www.foxnews.com/...

Wrong war Georgie: Bush's comparing Iraq to America's 1776 should have been to America's Civil War!
Wrong War: Bush's Comparing Iraq to America's 1776 should have been to America's civil war a thousand fold or worse!
Yesterday of course was the 4th of July. I was lucky enough to enjoy the day without seeing or hearing Bush. Then this morning I was unfortunate enough to catch his 4th of July speech where he was comparing what Iraq was going through as a result of his attack, to 1776.
The Fourth of July speech delivered by George W. Bush Wednesday amounted to an inadvertent self-exposure. Addressing a military audience in West Virginia, the president invoked the example of the American Revolution, when ordinary farmers "dropped pitchforks and took up muskets to fight" for their independence, "taking on the most powerful empire in the world."
It apparently did not occur to Bush, or his White House speechwriters, that any reference to the Revolutionary War was more than problematic for an imperialist power waging a brutal colonial war. It would suggest a parallel between today's insurgents in Iraq and the ragtag colonials of 1776 who waged guerrilla warfare against the British monarchy, then "the most powerful empire in the world."
http://www.wsws.org/articles/2007/jul2007/bush-j06.shtml
His idiocy knows no bounds. It is like 1776 for us but today we are fighting an enemy within. It is like 1776 to Iraqi's as every day citizens are picking up arms to repel the all powerful invader, us. Other than in that regard the idiot had the wrong war! The War in Iraq between Iraqi factions can be accurately and more Historically compared to America's Civil War. Bush is an Idiot!
Then I was out running errands today and I heard him ignorantly chastising the Democratic Congress for doing what he is doing. I guess I must have been caught up covering his other created crises because I missed the other day where he chastised Congress for misspending the peoples money and then threatening another veto if he didn't get his way. House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer today flouted President Bush's threat to veto spending bills for being too costly, and he chided Republicans for criticizing the fiscal restraint of the Democrat-led Congress.

"They don't have anything else to say. They have a failed administration, a failed Congress preceding this Congress," the Maryland Democrat said. "The American public turned them out." http://washingtontimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070629/NATION/106290112/1001
I think we can all agree with Hoyer but what can we do about it? The hypocrisy is obvious, sickening, and legendary. Knowing the gross over spending that has occurred since the inception of this misadministration, the trillions in debt he has put off paying until he is out of office on the shoulders of those fighting his wars if they survive, and the insistence of no over sight so the corruption can go on unchecked, the ignorant, two faced, audacity, just doesn't stop and is getting increasingly debilitating.
How much more of this ignorant, obvious, two faced garbage do we have to take?

As soon as I heard Libby paid his fine my thought was we will pay him for committing treason!
The payment, of $250,400, which included a "special assessment" of costs, was paid by a cashier’s check dated July 2. A spokeswoman for Mr. Libby, Barbara Comstock, said he paid the fine out of his own pocket. I wouldn't believe that either but that is not what I wanted to discuss. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/06/washington/06libby.html?_r=1&oref=slogin
I knew these fools would have the last laugh! My immediate thought first went to the fact that we would have to reimburse him when Bush gives him his pardon and he will. I thought a refund would be automatic then I found out that Technically he can get it but it won't be easy. Once a convicted criminal pays a fine, the treasury can't issue a refund even if that person is later exonerated. For Libby to get back his 250 Gs, Congress would need to pass a law to make the funds available. Or it's possible that President Bush could issue a customized presidential pardon that specifies a refund.
http://www.slate.com/id/2169860/nav/fix/
I couldn't in my wildest dreams see Congress passing a law making those funds available but I can absolutely see Bush issuing a customized presidential pardon that specifies a refund. My first thought in that regard was OMG Bush is going to make us pay interest lost during the time the money was in the Feds hands and we will in effect have paid Libby to commit treason against us, America, and our Constitution. I wouldn't doubt that at all. One final slap in the face.
I was thinking about that then I realized that after years of investigation and the long trial we already spent untold millions only to have him released and that we already paid. When I say we I mean average Americans because Bush gives the rich their tax contributions back. Then I started thinking about the tremendous cost of all this and realized the monetary cost will pale to the irreparable damage to the Constitution and our rule of law in the future.
The damage to the future of America is incalculable and it will carry on forever I am afraid. The damage to our system of Government that relies heavily on integrity is damaged forever and the standard of do whatever you want to get what you want with no concern for the law has been set right from the top and it will filter all through society. You have to wonder about our future and realize that Bush has done a lot more damage than just the obvious.

Latest events: missile Defense System and its Purpose of Instigating Confrontation is working!
We have had an ongoing discussion of the missile defense system as events between Russia and Bush change step by step. The last was July 2nd and events are moving ever rapidly towards the desired end of open confrontation. People must see by now what is happening hear and the way this to will end. I have heard many opinions varying from them being useless to the point that even if they had a 99% success ratio that against a limited attack it would ensure mutual destruction.
It is serving the purpose I thought which was to instigate future confrontation so Bush could progress with his new world order. I have been trying to get people to realize that Bush is following the 19th century Russian Doctrine of destruction where you must break down existing order before you can replace it with your new order. That means war! http://www.anaveragepatriot.com/downloads/Manuscript2.pdf
Certainly everyone must see what has occurred around the world. Bush will not stop. Anyway, Putin did make another brilliant move but Bush will ignore it amidst threats that Russia will move its missiles to the Polish Chezh borders.
An antiterrorism bond forged after the Sept. 11 attacks has been chipped at repeatedly. Disputes developed over the Iraq war, missile defense plans, the fate of democracy in Russia, NATO expansion to Russia's doorstep and sniping over what each side views as meddling in former Soviet republics. look at the list! I am sure we can go on and on and on but every single one of those problems is caused by little Georgie.
At a summit last month of world economic powers, Putin surprised Bush by proposing that the system instead use an old Soviet-era radar facility in Azerbaijan instead of the Czech and Polish sites. It is an idea that US officials do not want to reject outright. But they have concluded it would not work as a substitute, only perhaps as an early warning supplemental component. At the lobster summit Putin dropped a couple more surprises on Bush. He said flat out that he did not want the systems in Poland and Czechoslovakia but wanted them somewhere that was friendlier to Russia. That makes sense! He suggested that the missile defense systems be housed on Russian soil. Wow, that is provocative but that sounds vaguely familiar to me? Anyway Putin proposed transforming U.S. plans for an Eastern European missile shield into a broader system that would incorporate a radar system in southern Russia and bring more European nations into the decision-making process.
I think that is a great idea and once again puts Bush on the spot. My thought is that all along Putin has out played Bush in this Political gamesmanship as Putin points out that, that would put the relationship between our two countries on an entirely new level. Personally I like that idea and if it was wanted then it is possible. I have to ask why is Bush so insistent that the Czech Republic and Poland need to be an integral part of the system. http://www.cnn.com/...
The latest events: Russia's First Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov says the term "Cold War" will be forgotten if the United States accepts his country's missile-defense plan for Europe. But Ivanov is also threatening to deploy Russian missiles near Poland if Washington rejects the Kremlin offer. VOA Moscow Correspondent Peter Fedynsky reports. You know damn well Bush will ignore it as he has to in order to instigate war and his new order.
Speaking to reporters in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, First Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov said Russia will cancel plans to deploy missiles in its Kaliningrad enclave if the United States accepts a Kremlin plan for a European missile-defense system. The Russian Baltic enclave is surrounded by Poland and Lithuania, both NATO members.
Ivanov's statement carries the implied threat of an arms race in response to an American plan to deploy missiles in Poland and a radar installation in the Czech Republic. The United States says the system would guard against a possible attack by Iran. Ivanov says his country's proposal is better for NATO than America's.
I have to agree when Ivanov says that Russia together with the NATO allies can create a system that would defend not just some NATO members, but all of them. http://voanews.com/english/2007-07-04-voa23.cfm
It will not happen because Bush does not want cooperation but as the past has shown, needs instigation and direct confrontation in order to continue his new world order. We must continue to spread the word and try to stop this egomaniac!

Bush cites ongoing Debate about George Washington's legacy, no longer concerned about his own, we're in trouble!
Bush cites ongoing debate about George Washington's Legacy: No longer concerned about his own, we're in trouble!First I want to say Happy 4th of July! I was not aware Washington's legacy was still being debated. Bush's will be debated for years if we are lucky.
However his destruction of our American and world order has already settled his Legacy as the worst President in History. In the past I am sure I am not the only one that being very disgusted and greatly disappointed with Bush's corruptive ineptitude as he blindly discards our societal and world order to replace it with his version of new order.
All along his perverted course he has always been outspoken as to his concern for his Legacy. That has always been mind blowing watching every detrimental move he has made. Anyway not anymore. I saw an interview last night that I cannot find and hope someone can help me. But he is no longer concerned about his legacy and it will speak for itself for many years into the future. As we see it everyday, It is speaking now and getting worse with every corruptive move.
He is just blindly focused on changing our order and is ignorant to reality thinking we will all thank him for this fiasco. He ignorantly said George Washington's Legacy was still being debated today so he is sure he will be debated for many years. George Washington's mat still be talked about but not debate. We know he did good for the country.
Bush's will be debated until eternity because of how destructful he was to Our America. There will be no question as to that. He will continue to ignore the entire world believing his legacy will in the end speak well of him. So he will stay the course as he proved by reprieving Libby and he will totally vindicate him. Hell where is his Presidential Citation, it was only a little treason.
That is very scary for us and the entire world. As we celebrate another 4th of July I am reminded that growing up in Salem, Massachusetts the 4th of July was always our favorite holiday and we celebrated at the Salem Willows. As I watch and listen daily to Bush's destruction and ignorance of our America and its order and do it with utter disdain I have to pray that we can survive Bush's next 4th and survive the mess he has made.

Yesterday's Ignorance: One example why we must all participate in 9/15 Washington Impeachment Rally!
I have to agree with Joe Wilson's assesment of Bush's ignorant pardon of Scooted I mean Scooter. President Bush's decision to commute I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby's prison sentence proves that "this administration is corrupt to the core," said Ambassador Joseph Wilson, the former diplomat whose wife was at the center of the CIA leak investigation that sparked the Libby case. In denouncing the Bush administration, Wilson told NPR, "I would only hope that Americans now realize, with this subversion of our system of justice and the rule of law in this country, just exactly how corrupt they are."
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=11689369
That is not what I want to discuss today though! This mockery of our Justice system and our rules and laws shows once again that Bush, Cheney, and their New Order lying Cronies are above our law and order as they ceaselessly continue to persue their new version of societal and world order.
That is just the latest in a long line of examples why I hope the following letter from Ramsey Clark regarding the March in Washington DC calling for the Impeachment of Bush and Cheney will motivate those that can participate in any capacity will do so. The march is set to coincide with General Petraeus's report on the surge on September 15th. The surge is a failure as expected and I would not doubt if the report is delayed in order to rain on our parade by design.
Mr. Clark requested that those of us that receive his message spread it around as much as possible. This is the best method for me to do that so here you go:
Dear james,
I am writing to you with the hope that you will help us organize and promote the September 15th March in Washington DC. Thousands of Americans from around the country will join together to demand the impeachment of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney and insist on the immediate end to the war in Iraq. September 15th is the date General David Petraeus is mandated to make a report to Congress on the progress of the so-called surge. The eyes of the national and international media will be focused on Washington DC at that time. Time is short.
The question is whether we have the will to act. President Bush has said ...”the Iraqi people owe the American people a huge debt of gratitude.” Feeling unappreciated he has questioned “...whether or not there is a gratitude level that’s significant enough in Iraq.” Let us count the acts of the Bush Administration for which the Iraqi people should be grateful.
.
US violence has brought death to hundreds of thousands of Iraqi’s and physical injury to millions.
—Hundreds of billions of dollars in property destruction caused by U.S. aggression will take decades after peace to rebuild.
—2.2 million Iraqi’s, nearly one in ten, have fled their country to foreign exile, refugee camps and a doubtful future while at least 2 million more have fled their homes and communities to furtive lives of quiet desperation, to inadequate housing within Iraqi, without jobs or schools.
—3/4's of the people do not have safe drinking water.
—Iraqi’s internationally acclaimed and free health care system is a shambles.
—Since Shock and Awe began in March 2003 infant mortality in Iraq has increased radically to the highest death rate of all nations.
—Iraq is the most unstable country in the world.
—The sight and sound of violent death has created a pervasive state of constant devastating fear.
For this Iraq should be grateful?
It must be clear to every informed and thinking person that President Bush has no concern for human suffering, truth, freedom, democracy, peace, justice, human rights, or the Constitution of the United States. His words and acts are designed only to increase his personal power and achieve his personal agenda and that of those who share his goals and hatred.
To this end, he will destroy relations with Russia by placing missile defense systems on its border inside Poland and in the Czech Republic, he will impose Wolfowitz on the World Bank, and he will retain Alberto Gonzales as Attorney General.
President Bush intends for a major American military force to remain in Iraq for the foreseeable future even if it destroys that country utterly and turns the whole world that cares about justice against the United States. Look only at the $600 million dollar U.S. Embassy built in the heart of Baghdad and nearing completion. He sees withdrawal from Iraq as the loss of control of its oil followed by Saudi Arabia and the Emirates with their oil and the expansion of Iranian influence.
President Bush seeks regime change in Iran and Syria and the perpetuation of repressive dictatorships in Egypt, Pakistan and elsewhere in the region. There is a high risk he will order an attack on Iran. Having achieved regime change of the fairly elected government of Palestine, he seeks permanent isolation and decimation of Gaza and tightening control of the West Bank through funding and arming of a minority faction there, ending the hope for a viable, free and independent Palestine.
He plans to expand his war against Islam that will involve the U.S. in a losing military conflict on Muslim soil for years to come with unforeseeable, but devastating costs and consequences.
To continue these policies he will further diminish the freedom, privacy and civil liberties of the American people and expand the domination of wealth and militarism over the economy and body politic of our country.
He has committed the most serious crimes against humanity from wars of aggression and threats of more to political corruption and the corruption of justice at home unprecedented in our history.
Impeachment now is imperative. If, We the People fail to force accountability for these crimes this fall, President Bush will have a free ride with impunity through the Presidential election year of 2008, when the Constitutional duty to impeach will succumb to political pressure, to the end of his second term in January 2009.
The impeachment of Bush, Cheney and the other civil officers of the United States is not merely the best way to bring our troops home from Iraq and prevent new aggressions, it is the sure way and the only way. President Bush, who assaults nations in the name of democracy has proclaimed himself the one man “decider” for the fate of our country and its victims. For him, democracy is an election controlled by wealth every four years and dictatorship in between.
If we fail, the world will see that the American people are powerless to effectively oppose Bush policies that have angered and embittered billions of people, making enemies of most nations, or worse, that the American people support Bush policies. How else could such lawless and destructive policies be tolerated?
We do have the will to act and by working together we can make the difference. Please act now, as if the future of the country depends on it.
We can succeed but only with the help of you and thousands of other people. It is essential that we raise hundreds of thousands of dollars right now. Please make a donation today. you can make an online donation or send a check.
We can organize, arouse public opinion and raise funds over the summer to bring a massive turnout on September 15 in Washington DC demanding Impeachment and an end to the war. If you want to be listed as an endorser and supporter of the September 15th demonstration, you can do so below.
We will work in key Congressional Districts, constituents to their Representative, to insure action on Impeachment. We will involve people in every walk of life, working together to stop the runaway lawlessness of the Bush Administration before we are so inextricably intertwined in aggression, war, occupation and alienation that it will take decades before we can pursue policies that serve humanity, rejecting militarism, domination and exploitation.
We need to know how receptive the American people are to an all out effort in this moment of maximum moral and political crisis to personal commitment to participation in a six month campaign to impeach Bush/Cheney, et al.
Are you? Let us know now whether you will join this campaign. Let us know how you can organize support, enlisting others, staging demonstrations across the nation, raising and contributing funds for massive T.V., newspaper, computer and direct telephone and mail campaigns.
I hope you will join us and make this effort a priority so we can persevere in common cause.
Sincerely,Ramsey Clark

Just what do both sides want? Bush wants his way and Putin wants to be left alone and a Lazy Lobster!
At the Lobster Summit Questions were raised of course as to what either side wanted from the other. To me the question is where is the problem. Relations are rocky between President Bush and Russian President Vladimir Putin, but they began their overnight visit at the Bush family's seaside summer home on Sunday with warm handshakes, lobster dinner and a hair-raising spin through the Atlantic's choppy waters. Of course to pave the way Daddy Bush did the initial greeting to pave the way and Gee, lazy lobsters, a spirited boat ride on some pristine Maine coastline, fishing, Why would Putin want that?
An antiterrorism bond forged after the Sept. 11 attacks has been chipped at repeatedly. Disputes developed over the Iraq war, missile defense plans, the fate of democracy in Russia, NATO expansion to Russia's doorstep and sniping over what each side views as meddling in former Soviet republics. look at the list! I am sure we can go on and on and on but every single one of those problems is caused by little George.
Today Putin dropped a couple more surprises on Bush.
My thought is that all along Putin has out played Bush in this Political gamesmanship. As Putin points out that, that would put the relationship between our two countries on an entirely new level. Personally I like that idea it is possible. I have to ask why is Bush so insistent that the Czech Republic and Poland need to be an integral part of the system.

They also discussed Iran in depth supposedly about Iran's nuclear ambitions and the possibility of increased sanctions. In light of today's announcement that Iran is using the Lebanese Shiite militia Hezbollah as a "proxy" to arm Shiite militants in Iraq and Tehran's elite Quds force helped militants carry out a January attack in Karbala in which five Americans were killed, a U.S. general said Monday.
A senior Lebanese Hezbollah operative, Ali Mussa Dakdouk, was captured March 20 in southern Iraq, U.S. military spokesman Brig. Gen. Kevin J. Bergner said. Dakdouk served for 24 years in Hezbollah and was "working in Iraq as a surrogate for the Iranian Quds Force," Bergner said.
The general also said that Dakdouk was a liaison between the Iranians and a breakaway Shiite group led by Qais al-Kazaali, a former spokesman for cleric Muqtada al-Sadr. Bergner said al-Kazaali's group carried out the January attack against a provincial government building in Karbala and that the Iranians assisted in preparations. Al-Khazaali and his brother Ali al-Khazaali were captured with Dakdouk.
I have to wonder if that was discussed and what else if anything about Bush's real plans for Iran. http://www.foxnews.com/...
We remember that Bush famously said in 2001 that he trusted Putin because he had gotten "a sense of his soul." This time he said Putin was forthcoming and transparent. I don't know about that but I hate to say it, when I watched Bush and Putin in their interview Bush instantly came across as untrustworthy, arrogant, and smug and Putin came across as self assured and the one in control.
It reminded me that a couple days ago when Political analysts were talking about Bush and Putin's relationship Putin was described as respecting Bush. In light of what Bush has said and done around the world I would say it is impossible for anyone to respect him. If there is any respect it is for the power Bush wields or more specifically throws around without thinking. What do you say?

Russia Building Venezuela Refineries, China building Mexican Ports, North American Union, What about the myriad of problems in our own backyard?
Russia building Venezuela Refineries, China Building Mexican ports, North American Union, what about the myriad of problems in our own backyard?
I know we have much to be paying attention to and be concerned with around the world. Most of it is due to Bush. However as I have written many times about Chavez's hate for Bush and America and watching their ever growing connections with Iran, China, and Russia, I am becoming increasingly concerned about what is happening right here in our own backyard while our attention seems to be everywhere but.
We have Russia building up to 13 refineries in Venezuela. Very interesting as Iran is experiencing gas shortages and riots as a result of a lack of refineries. Anyway Venezuela has to build four refineries to process heavy crude from fields in the Orinoco Belt and is considering establishing a joint venture with Russia to satisfy these goals, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said during a business conference Friday at the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce.
"Orinoco, where Lukoil is now working, there are demonstrated reserves of 300 billion tons of heavy crude in two new fields," Chavez said. "Therefore we have decided to build four refineries, and in the future, accounting for the interests of countries in the Caribbean region, 13 refineries altogether."
Chavez said that at present, Venezuela is considering establishing a joint venture with Russia in pursuit of these aims. He said that Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru and other South American countries could also found such ventures. they will build a pipeline to Argentina and buy $5 Billion worth of equipment figuring why not Russia?http://gielda.wp.pl/...
I have learned from our own Mariacha mama through a conversation on the clandestine efforts in creating A North American union that China is funding and clandestinely building ports in Mexico. She pointed out to us that Lázaro Cárdenas is home to a deep-water seaport that handles container, dry bulk, and liquid cargo.
The port handled 160,000 TEU in 2005 but is expanding to a capacity of 2.2 million TEU annually. Cargo is moved to and from the port by road and rail equally, with rail service provided exclusively by Kansas City Southern Railway. The port is expected to become a major container facility due to congestion at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach and its relative proximity to major cities such as Chicago, Kansas City, and Houston. http://en.wikipedia.org/... Then she noted that the LA and Long Beach ports handle 6.7 million TEU and 3.8 million and they are very congested. Due to a lot of reasons, they can't expand as you can see, the Mexican port is not to replace the US ports, (it couldn't) but to add more ports so we get more crap we don't need from China. Also there are plans for another deep water port in Baja. A Los Angeles firm, fronting for Chinese and Korean concerns, is lobbying the Mexican government to be granted permission to build a $1 billion dollar port in the agricultural area of Punta Colonet, 150 miles south of Tijuana.
The downside is the obvious environmental impact. The LA Times described the intended area as ‘deserted farmland’ This is far from fact. Punta Colonet south San Quintin is one of the most productive agricultural areas in Baja. Its proximity to Hwy. 1 and the US have spurred the growth of large commercial farming in the area. Having anchored in Punta Colonet, it is a beautiful, unspoiled area where orchards and farms run right to the oceans edge. There has been tremendous growth in the region over the last 5 years http://www.bajainsider.com/...
Meanwhile because of warmonger Bush I don't know if we are a real threat to Venezuela or not but we have Chavez preparing for war.
President Hugo Chavez urged soldiers on Sunday to prepare for a guerrilla-style war against the United States, saying that Washington is using psychological and economic warfare as part of an unconventional campaign aimed at derailing his government. Declaring that it is not just armed warfare, Under Chavez, Venezuela has recently purchased some $3 billion worth of arms from Russia, including 53 military helicopters, 100,000 Kalashnikov rifles, 24 SU-30 Sukhoi fighter jets. Last week, Chavez said he is considering arms purchases, including submarines and a missile-equipped air defense system, as he prepared for his tour of Russia, Belarus and Iran. http://www.foxnews.com/...
While all this is going on in our own backyard we had a very good discussion on the clandestine efforts to establish a security and Prosperity Partnership known as the North American Union. However there were a couple who said we were crazy. I was happy to receive confirmation from Canada and again from one of our members. He said: I wish more left-wingers would recognize this as There's a left-wing organization in Canada ("The Council of Canadians") that has been on top of this for several years now. They call it "Deep Integration" and talk about it as an extension of NAFTA.www.canadians.org/integratethis
The SPP [Security & Prosperity Partnership] takes NAFTA's goal of continental economic integration much further by including security and foreign policy issues, and by speeding up the process of regulatory harmonization integral to the first Canada-U.S. Free Trade Agreement. The next meeting of the SPP is planned for Canada August 20-21, 2007 in Montebello, Quebec. http://www.canadians.org/...
Deep integration between Canada and the United States is not a theory or a fear – it is a reality. For several years now, government task forces and working groups have been quietly harmonizing Canada-U.S. programs and procedures, without any input from the Canadian public. The Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP), agreed to by the leaders of Canada, the U.S. and Mexico in 2005, is moving Canada quickly toward a continental resource pact, a North American security perimeter, and harmonized military and security policies. Working groups composed of bureaucrats and corporate leaders are quietly putting this "partnership" into action, and to date only industry "stakeholders" have been consulted.
At the Council of Canadians, we believe that citizens have a right to know about major government initiatives that could change the food we eat, the civil liberties we enjoy and the social programs we depend on. To date, very few elected officials have sounded the alarm about the SPP. And all of the secrecy surrounding the SPP’s implementation has left the public in the dark.
Lastly I received confirmation of my concerns the next day as I saw that Lou Dobbs was doing a show on clandestine North American Union efforts and he was decrying left wingers for not believing what is happening.
DOBBS: Representatives of the United States, Canada and Mexico are preparing for a summer meeting to further the goals of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America. The SPP, which many consider to be simply a blueprint for the North American Union, would weaken U.S. laws and regulations and diminish American sovereignty. Kitty Pilgrim has our report.
JOHN URQUHART from the COUNCIL OF CANADIANS pointed out that discussions are going on behind closed doors and would bring neither Peace or prosperity.
PILGRIM: Now, new documents have come to light about how U.S. taxpayers may end up footing the bill. Watchdog group Judicial Watch dug up documents through the Freedom of Information Act. It's a financial work plan that describes how U.S. taxpayers would fund grants to Mexico. The work plan states, "The establishment of a grant fund for development with U.S. and Canadian resources to finance the development of physical infrastructure in Mexico.
DOBBS: Well, there are a lot of questions. And the fact is, Judicial Watch is to be congratulated for its diligence in digging these new documents up. I really want to hear from the snarky little left-wing who deny that there's such a thing at the SPP and the plans on part of this administration, on that of the Mexican government and the Canadian government to go ahead with the North American Union, because I think the snarky little darlings are about to awaken to the error of their ways. http://transcripts.cnn.com/...
I remember Bush mentioning the North American Union in 2005 and then went underground with it when the idea was not received well but my concern today is that while we are focused on the myriad of problems facing us in our daily lives, in the middle east, and around the world our own backyard and life as we know it is undergoing a transformation. We must pay more attention and put more effort into relations right here.

In Control or not, Republicans make sure it is the Government Verse The People!
In Control or not Republicans make sure it's the Government against the People, They want us to look as inept as them, the truth must be seen!
We discuss often that even though we now have a Democratic Congress nothing is getting done. However it is not for lack of desire and effort. Absolutely everything positive Democrats try to get done is being refbuffed by Republicans in an effort to make us look as selfish, worthless, inept, and lazy as them. I was hoping that people would realize why this continues to be a do nothing Congress despite all the promises Democrats made and their attempts to keep their campaign promises. I still hope that is the case and Republicans pay for their status quo childish games at a time when they are really needed, in the 2008 elections.
In a recent CNN poll people were asked how they think the Democratic Congress is doing after six months? The answer Lousy but better than the alternative. I have to agree with that assessment but the question should be Why do you think the Democratic Congress has not gotten any of their promises through. The answer would be obvious.
Meanwhile Republicans are trying to capitalize off their blocking of our efforts of course as we hear Rep. Eric Cantor prove: "We are now halfway through the first year of the 110th Congress," Rep. Eric Cantor, R-Virginia, said. "And there is no question that the failure on the part of the Democrats in terms of their midterm exam is really a letdown to the expectations of the American people.''
Instead of explaining why and putting the onus where it belongs our leaders continue to let the Republican disinformation program hold sway and are still unable to master the forum and turn things around on the Republicans. It is simple entry level debate to me. Instead in response to Cantor's statement Pelosi merely said she tended to agree and that she was not happy with the Congress either.
What the heck is wrong with our so called leaders? I can understand Bush looking more worthless every poll as he should but I do not understand Congresses. President Bush is doing terribly -- an average of 30 percent job approval in six recent polls. Congress is doing worse -- 25 percent on the average in five polls.
When asked why the low marks both sides gave their expected dead wrong party line answers. Democrats point to one issue where not much seems to be getting done. "The war in Iraq is dragging down people's confidence in what's going on in this country," Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said. Yes, people are waking up and losing confidence in our Politicians as they should but the stupidity of allowing us to divert and get into the quagmire in Iraq is not our biggest problem I am afraid.
Republicans point to another issue and a real ridiculous reason. "One of the reasons that confidence is at an all-time low is because of the immigration bill," Sen. Jim DeMint, R-South Carolina, said. That just blew my mind. I was disappointed that their was no real effort to get a responsible Bill through while helping those that need it, prosecuting Employers of illegals, and securing the Border but again we have much bigger problems.
I am happy to see that voters are not willing to go back to a Republican Congress and A solid majority says it's good for the country that the Democratic Party is in control of Congress. Even though they're doing a lousy job? They are not doing a lousy job! They are having lousy results and that is the way Republicans want it. You know Reid is right when he says the Republicans are blocking them but we must get the people to realize this and we seem unable to be able to do this and I do not understand why.
We can all agree with Senator Kyle that "It is a sad commentary in America today that many Americans have lost faith in their government" He added, "Americans don't believe that their government is representing them, is acting on their behalf. The polls show it." Nothing has changed since the inception of Bush and nothing will get accomplished until him and his cronies are gone.
He ridiculously goes on to say The new dynamic is the people versus the government. Like I just said, what has changed since Bush gained his illicit power? The only difference is that Politicians realize it but are not willing to do anything about it.
http://www.cnn.com/...
Our major problem is the Government and many Politicians on both sides. They continue to play Partisan games at a time when we greatly need them to come together and do the work of "we the people and our America" our leaders do not know how to lead. They seem oblivious to the fact that we are in trouble and need some serious leadership and there is none. That is our biggest problem.
We are still waiting for someone to do what is right for America. We are still waiting for our Knight in Shining Armor if you will, to lead us through the dark tunnel our leaders have allowed President Bush to create.

Trading Lives for Opium! Why not Buy it all to Defuse every single Issue over there? Control it, find a use for it.
You know, my first thought when I saw this record opium Prodution in Afghanistan I thought back to previous discussions on Afghanistan and the failure Bush guaranteed there, in Iraq, and the entire middle east, when he ignored all advice to the contrary and attacked Iraq not to unseat Saddam but to get our military into the midle east. That is for another discussion!
I remember amidst discussions of the Taliban being too tough to fight, Al Frist suggested we allow them to partake in the Afghan Government. Earlier this year I recall a story where the Taliban was actively building schools for towns that did not have them. I then remember that I also did a story last year when it was announced that Afghanistan had a record year harvesting 6,700 tons. More than the entire world market could consume. Production increased 49 percent from the year before. The estimated 6,700 tons even broke the world record of 1999, when 5,764 tons of opium were produced globally. Taking into account that the insurgency derives a significant amount of revenue from drugs, I decided to research just what has happened to the Opium trade since we attacked Afghanistan.
First it seems to me that criticism of Clinton aside, I think we could have gone about this differently too. I don't know why we could not have done a surgical strike or even used unmanned aircraft as we have since, and then tried Diplomacy. Instead as Bush attacked Iraq and created an insurgent and sectarian civil war where there was none. He attacked Afghanistan and created an over abundance of opium. I was stunned when I got to thinking about opium production when the Taliban was in power and researched it.
The following information is from a story by the BBC in 2002. First, The Taleban banned poppy cultivation in 2000 so in 2001 production was down to 185 tons. Then by 2002 production went up to 3,400 tons That is around 18 times higher than last year's unusually low figure of 185 tons, which followed the ban on cultivation imposed by the Taleban in the last year of their rule. I have to wonder what they were growing in lieu of opium to survive and I don't know about this but the increase is blamed on poverty-stricken farmers taking advantage of the power vacuum and it is not the fault of Kabul or the U.N. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/2361453.stm
Every year since we attacked Afghanistan opium production has continued to climb. This year Production has increased again dramatically. It is no ones fault and no one knows how to control it. The recent 2007 report shows that In 2006, Afghanistan accounted for 92 percent of global illicit opium production, up from 70 percent in 2000 and 52 percent a decade earlier. The higher yields in Afghanistan brought global opium production to a record high of nearly 7,300 tons last year, a 43 percent increase over 2005.
The area under opium poppy cultivation in the country has also expanded, from nearly 257,000 acres in 2005 to more than 407,000 acres in 2006 — an increase of about 59 percent. "This is the largest area under opium poppy cultivation ever recorded in Afghanistan," the report said. UNODC (U.N. office of Drugs and crime) Executive Director Antonio Maria Costa warned that Afghanistan's insurgency-plagued Helmand province was becoming the world's biggest drug supplier, with opium cultivation there larger than in the rest of the country put together.
She is right that controlling Poppy cultivation would go a long way towards bringing security to the Region. To me it would go a long way in defunding the Taliban but I haven't heard any real solution and to me, again if they were serious an answer is very obvious.
For the sixth straight year, the amount of land under opium cultivation has fallen in Southeast Asia. From 1998-2006, that region's share of world opium poppy cultivation has decreased from 67 percent to just 12 percent, largely due to declines in cultivation in Myanmar, the report said. Southeast Asia's total opium production in 2006 was just 370 tons, it said.
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,286732,00.html
All the while Afghanistan's production has grown exponentially and has more than replaced it. we cannot even control poppy cultivation let alone the Taliban. We cannot control cultivation so to me the obvious answer is to control the market. Buy all the poppy's produced and control what is done with them. It seems to me that we could find an al alternative use for it, keep the people employed, save lives and gain friends while undermining the Taliban. Doesn't this sound feasable? Why are we not doing something along this line?

Immigration Bill Defeated: A much needed Defeat for Bush and a Victory for Average Americans!
Immigration Bill Defeated: not a defeat for Democrats but A victory for average Americans and a Defeat for Bush!
In a stunning setback for President Bush and other advocates of a proposed immigration law overhaul, the Senate voted today to block a final vote on the legislation, almost certainly dooming any further effort at reform in Congress this year.
On a vote of 46-53, the Senate fell 14 votes shy of the 60 needed to cut off an inevitable filibuster and move to a final vote on the bill, which had been cobbled together in recent months by a bipartisan alliance of about a dozen senators working in concert with the Bush administration.
Both Republican senators from Texas — Kay Bailey Hutchison and John Cornyn, who had battled for weeks to make the bill more conservative — voted, as expected, to bring it down, bucking their president on his chief domestic policy priority. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/4928175.html
I have been looking at comments about this and I see it has been depicted as a defeat for Democrats but I don't see it that way. That Bill was not set up for us and it would not have benefited America or most illegal immigrants. I am glad to see it defeated and believe it to be a victory for average Americans and our America not Bush's idea for a new society. http://www.anaveragepatriot.com/downloads/Manuscript2.pdf
Myself I thank Kay Bailey Hutchison and John Cornyn and now we will see if Bush really wants to secure the Border to protect us or wants to keep it open as he prepares his North American Union. http://www.dailykos.com/...

Amidst calls to Defund Cheney's office Both he and Bush's are Subpoenaed! What's it Worth?
First, to me it is ridiculous that Cheney feels he can claim executive privilege or any privilege for that matter. However when you remember the upity no good we're dealing with, it is no surprise. It is also no surprise to those of you that read my diaries that I believe Cheney is the real Decider and purveyor of this so called new order while Bush is merely the figurehead and the life long cheerleader elected to push the agenda through. Democrats think he has too much power. If they only knew!
I have been keeping an eye on events and at this point I think knee jerk reactions are gone by so I would like to discuss the latest developments! Bush calls these "Political games" but that of course only applies to Democrats. Anyway! It is doing the right thing if Bush does it.
As you know, Cheney routinely refuses to cooperate or show records on anything quoting executive privilege however as we discussed he has taken his quest for secrecy a step further by challenging demands from the US National Archives for information about the volume of classified documents generated by his office.
The dispute has exposed Mr Cheney to a fresh wave of questions about his powerful role at the heart of the Bush administration and added momentum to efforts by the Democratic-controlled Congress to uncover the secrets of his office.
He has failed in each of the past four years to meet reporting requirements on his office's handling of classified information and now has failed in each of the past four years to meet reporting requirements on his office's handling of classified information and now He's saying he's above the law. This is arrogant and shows bad judgment and gets more sickening to listen to the more we hear it.
We know that after 9/11 Cheney bypassed all other Administration officials and pushed Bush to make a series of controversial decisions that continues today. http://news.moneycentral.msn.com/...
I thought it a bit much but I thought it interesting when in response to Vice President Dick Cheney's claim that he doesn't have to follow executive orders on safeguarding classified information because he is part of the legislative branch has prompted congressional Democrats to respond in kind.
Rep. Rahm Emanuel, chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, is proposing lopping off funding for the vice president's office when the annual spending bill for the executive branch comes before the House later this week. I thought that was pretty interesting and stupefying when Lea Anne McBride, the vice president's spokeswoman, fired back saying Emanuel can either deal with the serious issues facing our country or create more partisan politics.
6 Years and what at all has been done to help the country? In contemplating cutting funding for Cheney's office I found it comical what Shumer said: It seems the vice president claims to exist in an alternative legal universe, where the law is whatever he says it is. That goes without saying whether it's Cheney or Bush. http://www.rutlandherald.com/...
I really can't see getting away with Defunding Cheney's office and I did find it interesting when at Noon today I heard The Senate Judiciary Committee subpoenaed the White House and Vice President Dick Cheney's office Wednesday for documents relating to President Bush's warrant-free eavesdropping program.
Also named in subpoenas signed by committee Chairman Patrick Leahy, D-Vermont, were the Justice Department and the National Security Council. The committee wants documents that might shed light on internal disputes within the administration over the legality of the program.
"Our attempts to obtain information through testimony of administration witnesses have been met with a consistent pattern of evasion and misdirection," Leahy said in his cover letters for the subpoenas. "There is no legitimate argument for withholding the requested materials from this committee."
Echoing its response to previous congressional subpoenas to former administration officials Harriet Miers and Sara Taylor, the White House gave no indication that it would comply. "We're aware of the committee's action and will respond appropriately," White House spokesman Tony Fratto said. http://www.cnn.com/...
I'll tell you, we are not getting much done because Bush and Cheny et al. will do their darnedest to make us appear as worthless as them but you have to admit that we are trying. I also have to say that in light of recent Democratic announcements and action, that we are getting desperate to be listened too and have an impact. In light of past reactions by the White House ignoring and blocking everything can we really expect one of these efforts to work? what do you suggest?

As We feared, Chief Justice John Roberts clearly Demonstrated he is the leader of a dangerous Court!
As we feared Chief Justice John Roberts clearly demonstrated he is the conservative leader of a conservative-leaning court. We continue to be subjugated and it only gets worse.
I haven't heard this discussed of late and we have to stay on top of this too. I want to discuss recent rulings in the Supreme Court that are favoring the right and threatening to undermine years of gains for the people. Back when Bush ridiculously attempted to put his lap dog Meirs in there we were concerned Bush was stacking the Supreme Court to push his perverted agenda through for years to come.
There use to be a measure that once someone got on the Supreme Court they tend to vote the opposite as expected. I was hoping that would continue to be the case with Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Alito. It isn't appearing that way right now.
First I woke this morning to hear a nameless Senator say that never before in history have so many people disagreed with and been upset with the direction of the country. I am afraid we are all part of that group. Then they cut to the chief idiot who was saying everything is great including the immigration Bill and it must be passed.
Then I came in and turned on my computer to see the headline that Bush predicted another win, this time on the arm twisting of the immigration Bill. I say it so much I am sick of saying it as Bush just continues to get his arrogant underhanded way as he drags us into his new societal order.
Anyway with that in mind I was listening to recent developments in the Supreme Court thinking Bush is getting his way there too and it too will continue long after he is gone. Bush is a nightmare that keeps repeating, for us, the middle east, and the entire world. In Monday's Supreme Court rulings, Chief Justice John Roberts clearly demonstrated he is the conservative leader of a conservative-leaning court. In two of the court's high-profile cases, Roberts showed he will take an incremental approach to curbing some of the court's precedents.
In a case testing whether the 2002 campaign reform law could bar certain types of TV ads, Roberts supported the First Amendment right of a Wisconsin Right to Life group to air ads urging two senators to oppose the filibustering of judicial nominees.
That also means that an antiabortion group should have been allowed to air ads during the final two months before the 2004 elections. The law unreasonably limits speech and violates the group's First Amendment rights, the court said. The decision could lead to a bigger role for corporations, unions and other interest groups in the 2008 presidential and congressional elections.
That is a scary thought to me as I can see it being abused further to push these perverted right wing agenda's on us. This is very discomforting and can only get worse. The Supreme Court also ruled Monday that ordinary taxpayers cannot challenge a White House initiative that helps religious charities get a share of federal money. This is really troubling to me. We have to get Religion out of politics.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/...
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19415033/
I am a to each his or her own find of person and I do not have a stance either way on the issue. I do not however appreciate being inundated by Religious right to life groups or perverted right wing agenda's. I do not like it at all! We are being further incapacitated. Where is the outrage?

I am a to each his or her own find of person and I do not have a stance either way on the issue. I do not however appreciate being inundated by Religious right to life groups or perverted right wing agenda's. I do not like it at all! We are being further incapacitated. Where is the outrage?

Arab Leaders threaten Hamas at Arab Israeli Summit, Al Zawahiri tells Hamas to unite with Holy Warriors against them!
First and related, A suicide bomber detonated his explosives inside a busy central Baghdad hotel, killing at least 12 people -- including Sunni and Shiite tribal sheiks who were meeting as part of Iraq's reconciliation effort -- U.S. and Iraqi officials told CNN.
Initial reports indicate seven sheiks -- five Sunnis and two Shiites -- were among those killed, a U.S. military official told CNN's Barbara Starr. Those killed include Fassal al-Qaoud, the former governor of Iraq's Anbar province who was a tribal leader in Ramadi, and Rahim al-Maliki, an anchorman with Iraqiya State television, the official said. South of Baghdad, a suicide car bomber detonated at a government compound in the town of Hilla Monday morning, killing at least eight people and wounding 31 others, a local official told CNN. Among the dead were civilians and security guards, authorities said.
The attack took place around 7 a.m. (11 p.m. ET Sunday).Hilla is located about 60 miles (100 km) south of Baghdad.http://www.cnn.com/...
That was only the beginning as you know if you heard or looked at the link. I however just wanted to point out the worsening of sectarian violence and it will get a lot worse in Iraq, some of it on their own people as two other events took place in the middle east that bear thought as sides are being developed in Bush's ever expanding middle east breakdown.
Arab diplomatic sources tell TIME that the Arab-Israeli summit in Sharm el Sheikh on Monday is intended as a stern message to Hamas: Stop fighting Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, or we'll launch a political war against you. But the sources say that the goal of the Arab regimes is to press for Hamas to join a new Palestinian unity government along with Abbas's Fatah party. Explains a senior Arab official, the decision to hold a meeting between Abbas, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Jordan's King Abdullah II and Israel's Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, "is a diplomatic warning to Hamas: If you try to strip Abbas's authority, think twice. We'll throw all our support to Abbas and work against you."
The new summit comes against a backdrop of deepening Arab frustration and despair over the failure to find a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, worsened by the spectacle of Palestinians killing each other. "Gaza has become an embarrassing and frightening scene evoking sorrow and grief in the hearts," Saudi commentator Abdulrahman al-Rashid wrote in the pan-Arab newspaper Asharq al-Awsat last week. Lately, Arab officials have grown anxious that their own increased diplomatic efforts are going unrewarded as they watch the growing influence of Iran, which backs radical Arab factions, including Hamas. While Hamas' power play humiliated the Saudis, which took pride in mediating the creation of the Palestinian unity government through February's Mecca Agreement, it also alarms the authorities in Egypt and Jordan, who face political challenges from Islamist parties in their own countries. http://www.time.com/...
This will only get more serious and deadly but I have to laugh. Can they really think they will be listened to other than supplying the other half of middle east combatants they will have no influence just like their ally Bush. if you read the story Bush and Israel have only served to increase tensions between Fatah and Hamas and fight they will. In steps Al Qaeda's no.2 Ayman Al-Zawahiri setting up the other side of this still developing war equation.
Al Qaeda's deputy leader called on Muslims around the world to back Hamas with weapons, money and attacks on U.S. and Israeli interests in a Web audio tape Monday, urging the Palestinian militant group to unite with Al Qaeda's "holy warriors" after its takeover of Gaza. Al-Zawahiri urged Hamas to implement Islamic law in Gaza, telling it, "Taking over power is not a goal but a means to implement God's word on earth.""Unite with mujahedeen (holy warriors) in Palestine ... and with all mujahedeen in the world in the face of the upcoming attack where Egyptians and Saudis are expected to play part of it," he added, suggesting that the two countries intend to attack Hamas to uproot its control of Gaza.
http://www.foxnews.com/...
Don't they see that no one is going to back down and sides are still developing in this middle east breakdown Bush set in motion by attacking Iraq. Like you I am not pleased with what I see as inevitable still forming and that is a total war to implement Islamic Law or Bush's so called new order. As you probably know, I am more concerned because I have one son still there and another volunteering to go back. What a mess!

I agree with Bush, Congress should have Political Courage. Let it start with the defeat of this Bill!
I agree with Bush, Congress should have Political Courage, Let it start with the Immigration Bill. Start defeating Him and his new order!
President Bush urged lawmakers Saturday to "summon the political courage" to support his top domestic priority, an immigration overhaul that is hanging by a thread in Congress. First, whatever happened to "stop playing Politics? I have to say that beyond securing the borders that despite the rhetoric and half assed efforts it will never happen. As we discussed in relation to Bush's desire for a North American Union, http://www.dailykos.com/...
Bush needs open Borders but to appease concerned Americans he needs to create another facade. This time feigning concern for average Americans and our security. Once again to get his way he is performing a balancing act.
Illegal immigration is no more a crisis and no worse than he allowed it to be for 6 years as he worked on his new societal order. http://www.anaveragepatriot.com/...
Bush purposely gave hope to illegal immigrants by increasing the rhetoric over the years that they would be allowed citizenship someway, somehow. There were some 5 million during his reign alone. Now that he has the low end wage earners he needs to fuel his idea of a new societal order he tells you he wants to secure the borders.
Bush's measure would tighten borders and workplace enforcement, create a new guest worker program and provide pathways to legal status for most of the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in the country. With 19 months left in Bush's presidency, some see immigration reform as his last hope for a major domestic achievement, and Bush himself has made clear it is his main legislative priority for the year.
This is no domestic achievement. He doesn't care about us and our America or illegal immigrants and a secure border. Only finishing his plan for a new societal order. Like his so called new middle east order he is well on his way and looking to cross the T's and dot the I's before he is done.
As an incentive for those who are skeptical about the government's ability to carry out the legislation's enforcement provisions, Bush publicly signed onto a plan for $4.4 billion in immediate funding for border security and workplace enforcement. The accelerated funding would be paid back by new fines and fees for illegal immigrants in the bill. However, of course pouring $Billions into this and securing the borders with half assed fences and promises Bush says is worthless and I have to agree with him. No one can really think fines and fees for illegal immigrants to that tune will be collected I hope.
He also said people caught crossing the border illegally will be permanently barred from returning to the United States on a work or tourist visa, those known to have taken part in illegal gang activity can be denied admission. Boy that's a threat. They would just do what they currently do and turn around and come back again. Beyond his gain what the heck realistically would be the gain for average Americans and our America? http://www.cnn.com/...
I absolutely have no stance on the issue of illegal immigration. I just know what you see is not what you get with Bush and this is no exception. This will not make the problem go away but as Reagan's legalization of 3 million did, this will only necessitate more to come fill the ranks as the legalized would no longer be cheap labor. Just think about it! Theoretically we could have up to 12 million more people here vying for a rapidly decreasing job base that is ceaselessly being sent overseas, unemployment?
I say this is a good time for Congress to start the process of doing the right thing for "our America" and "we the people" and start doing the peoples work. Stand up as Bush says and get Political courage. Make this the start of not giving Bush his perverted way and start the beginning of the end for his "new order"

Bush Reserves Right to ignore Laws, Challenges 1,100 Bill sections, More than all other Presidents combined!
Bush reserves right to ignore laws, challenges 1,100 Bill sections, more than all Presidents Combined. Then there's Cheney who can ignore Bush's laws! It's an uncontrollable circle jerk!
I set out to write about Cheney's ongoing argument that he is above Bush's rules but of course it got deeper. First with Congress, Cheney, and Bush all ignoring each other I have to reiterate, what friggen good are they? Opinions on all of them are at record lows and they could all care less as they all continue to do nothing, do what they want, and none of them give a damn.
Bush may be President but Cheney is the real Decider. Cheney and Rove's got him elected to be cheerleader to push their agenda through. During the interim Bush has learned to be the master of Rove's taught 3 D Politics (deceitful, deceptive, divisive, Politics) to get what he wants.
During their tenure Bush has set a fine example. I should be used to the crap by now but this really stunned me. In a report to Congress, the non partisan Government Accountability Office studied a small sample of the bill provisions that Bush has signed into law but also challenged with signing statements.
The GAO found that agencies disobeyed six such laws, while enforcing 10 others as written even though Bush had challenged them.
It is a common feeling for us that what damn good is a law or anything if Bush can just rewrite it or ignore it? A signing statement is a legal document filed in the Federal Register the day a president signs a bill into law. It instructs the executive branch about how to implement the new statutes the bill creates, and sometimes it states that certain provisions are unconstitutional and need not be enforced as written.
Bush's signing statements have drawn fire because he has used them to challenge more than 1,100 sections of bills -- more than all previous presidents combined. The sample the GAO studied represents a small portion of the laws Bush has targeted, but its report concluded that sometimes the government has gone on to disobey those laws. I mean, what the frig? http://www.boston.com/...
While Bush is challenging more than all our Presidents combined and rewriting whatever he deems necessary the real Decider who is doing much of the dirty work reserves the right to be above anything Bush sets into law so he can cover for him.
The White House struggled to explain yesterday why President Bush complies with rules and oversight on secret documents but Vice President Cheney doesn't. However, I already have! There were also no answers about why Cheney followed the rules in 2001 and 2002 but began stonewalling on documents in 2003 as the CIA leak case was breaking and weapons of mass destruction were not to be found in Iraq. It is simple. His misdeeds and cover ups for Bush are now obviously against the law The White House simply shrugs it off and says they will check on it. Yeah right!
There are rumors that Cheney tried to abolish the government office charged with safeguarding documents, which was hounding him for access but of course it is denied.
Cheney has often cited executive privilege stemming from his office in the Bush administration to reject requests from Congress. But the vice president's office has also claimed that because Cheney is president of the Senate in the legislative branch, he is exempt from a request by an agency in the executive branch. http://www.nydailynews.com/...
This is absolute BS and is by design a circle jerk rendering Congress and us powerless to stop them from doing what they want. Of course to cap it off Gonzales was asked to order Cheney to comply but the Justice Department has yet to rule. We are powerless to stop these corrupt new order idiots and we have to change that quickly.
