Compliments of Russia and China, Syria's uprising creeps across Lebanese border:

With Rare Double U.N. Veto on Syria, Russia and China Try to Shield Syria: UNITED NATIONS — By vetoing a Security Council resolution condemning Syria for its oppression of anti government forces, Russia and China effectively tossed a life preserver to President Bashar al-Assad, seemingly unwilling to see a pivotal ally and once stalwart member of the socialist bloc sink beneath the waves of the Arab Spring. A double veto at the United Nations is rare, in this case driven by similar if not exactly parallel concerns in Moscow and Beijing about losing influence in the Arab world as one authoritarian government after another built on the now-faded Soviet model collapses.

Syria's uprising creeps across Lebanese border: A growing number of cross-border incursions by Syrian troops into Lebanese territory has aggravated political rivalries in Lebanon between those who oppose the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and those who support it. Since the beginning of October, Syrian soldiers have penetrated Sunni-populated areas along Lebanon’s remote and poorly marked eastern border on a number of occasions, reportedly killing and abducting several people.

Syria has been going into Lebanon with tanks at will to kill Sunni and commit abductions but so far have shied away from Turkey, Iraq, Jordan, and Israel. Lebanon has long lived under Syria’s shadow and is more vulnerable to interference as the Assad regime pursues its crackdown on the Syrian opposition, elements of which have begun to arm themselves and fight back.

This is going to be a long tough fight because Iran will not allow a possible anti Iran regime change in Syria nor it seems will Russia and China. You would think that after Gaddafi's brutal death Bashar Al-Assad would take heed but he does not have to as China and Russia support his brutality to protect their interests and the old order.

Again: You know, I am thinking about all that is happening today in the United States and more pointedly around the entire world not just in North Africa and the Middle East and I am reminded of something we were told right after 9/11 and that was that this is a new volatile world we live in today and we must act accordingly. When I was a kid I learned "adapt, overcome, and move ahead successfully" We are not doing that, once again we have failed to take our own good advice.

This is not the 20th century. The times they are a changing and we must be smart enough to change with them or be trampled. WW 3 we do not want, it is not survivable for us or the planet with the awesome destruction of today's weapons. Just looking at the two telling links above I realized Russia and the United States are playing the same old power and control games instead of realizing this is a new world and like it or not we must adapt with it or destroy it.

Now China feels emboldened to play a role in pushing her desires on the "Arab Spring" too and this is all a recipe for disaster. The US can no longer stand by Israel blindly. Unless Israel realizes like it or not it is time for a 2 state solution to allow us to progress through the 21 century in this new world not the old one those in control are trying to hold on to.

Likewise it is wrong for Russia and China to embolden Syria and defend their Brutality in order to protect their selfish old interests. Like it or not we must let go. We the current powers are creating more problems not solving them. We must step back and let the baby be born. We can not have things the way we want. We must realize that instead of using weapons to try and have our way.

We must let the chips fall where they may then pick up what we can, adapt, overcome, and move forward successfully hopefully. The US is in trouble, Europe is in trouble, the Middle East is in trouble, the entire world is in trouble unless we wake up, stop trying to interfere with it, and help put together whatever is left.

Russia's Putin Says Eurasian Union May Be Created In 2015 and other countries are welcome to join:

Russia's Putin Says Eurasian Union May Be Created In 2015: Putin called for the creation of a Eurasian union to be built on the base of the existing Customs Union, a Russia-led trade group that also includes Belarus and Kazakhstan, in an article published in a Russian newspaper earlier this month. The call marked yet another step in Moscow's drive to rebuild economic ties among former Soviet republics.

Heads of the Russian, Belarus and Kazakh governments discussed the declaration endorsing the creation the union on Wednesday. Putin said he expected the declaration to be signed in December. Putin said in the article other countries were welcome to join the Eurasian union, which will aim to more closely coordinate the economic and currency policies of its member states. The talk of creation the Eurasian union isn't about "the recreation of the U.S.S.R.," but of building a connection between Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, Putin said.

I find it very disconcerting for many reasons. The European Union is bigger than the United States and that is not a concern for many reasons not needing explaining. However I find it troubling that Russia wants to join with the EU knowing the fragile condition of Greece and other countries and announces other countries are welcome to join. Is this an open invitation to China? or is it to not just compete with the US but for a two fold benefit?

Of late Russia has been rebounding and has expressed more than an interest in reclaiming her former glory as has China with her reunification efforts. We remember her former glory when she tried to militarily defeat Europe. Knowing China is more than raucous in expressing her desire to rule Asia without a US presence so she can through military force impress her desires for all the uncaptured natural resources in the South and East China sea's plus all the Islands long in contention.

Russia too has her interests in this regard. What are we to think? You know, I talk often as to how concerned I am as the big three Russia, the United States, and China, jockey for position to dominate as we move through the 21st century which will only lead to war and destruction instead of jockeying for a position of peace and prosperity for all as we must if we are to avoid WW3 which we and the planet can not survive and be life sustaining as we know it as our weapons are too plentiful and deadly.

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warns Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the office of President can be eliminated

I do not know if it will be that easy! It sounds more like a guaranteed civil war to me.

A couple years back we asked: If Iran was moving toward military dictatorship? You bet it is! Do You think Khamenei and Religious leaders can stop it now?

Iran moving toward military dictatorship? Watch the video is Iran a military Dictatorship? You bet it is! I believe revolution is more like it.

In the ongoing political skirmishes among Iran's leadership, it was the equivalent of bringing out the heavy ammunition: The country's most powerful figure warning that the post of elected president could someday be scrapped. Although no overhauls appear on the immediate horizon after Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's comment — he spoke only vaguely about possibilities in the "distant future" — the mere mention of eliminating Iran's highest elected office shows the severity and scope of the power struggle between Khamenei and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

For months, the ruling theocracy has been piling pressure on Ahmadinejad and arresting his allies for attempts to challenge the near-absolute authority of the cleric-ruled system that has controlled Iran since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. The blunt words by Khamenei on Sunday suggest a two fold agenda: Further tightening the lid on Ahmadinejad and showing others in the wings that Iran's rulers are ready to take drastic measures to protect what's theirs.

"There is bad blood," said Mehrzad Boroujerdi, who follows Iranian affairs at Syracuse University. "Khamenei is trying to make it very clear that the system can only handle so much discord and that he holds the stronger cards." It also marks one of the first clear hints of the ruling clerics' hardball strategies for parliamentary elections in March. Khamenei and his allies are expected to use their many tools, including the ability to vet and block candidates, to try to steamroll Ahmadinejad's backers and push the president — once Khamenei's protégé — farther into the political margins.

The ruling power structure in Iran, which includes not only hard-line clerics but also the hugely influential Revolutionary Guard, appears increasingly eager to snuff out the internal bickering. It's seen as an unwelcome distraction as the country confronts critical issues such as whether to restart nuclear negotiations with the West, complaints about its human rights record and U.S. allegations that a special unit of the Guard was linked to a plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador in Washington.

I say it to often today that once our so called leaders mention that something is an issue it is too late to do anything about it because it has gone too far. That is the case with Iran's clandestine nuclear weapons program and also labeling Iran as a military dictatorship. We have discussed this numerous times in the past. The fact that it is, is a long given as certainly events since the stolen election have proven. Iran's Revolutionary Guard is in charge!

On top of all the instigating Iran is doing in every instance I am very concerned with her desire for nuclear weapons, her willingness to use them, and the fact that we gave Iran her nuclear start in the 50s. The nuclear program of Iran was launched in the 1950s with the help of the United States as part of the Atoms for Peace program.[1] The support, encouragement and participation of the United States and Western European governments in Iran's nuclear program continued until the 1979 Islamic revolution that toppled the Shah of Iran. We are so concerned about Pakistan and Iran today in regard to nuclear abilities and nuclear weapons and security. I was blown away to find out that we built the first nuclear Reactors in both Iran and Pakistan. 1953 atoms for peace

Reading the book by Con Coughlin titled Khomeini's Ghost - The Iranian Revolution and the Rise of Militant Islam while as usual not totally correct it certainly makes you think and put everything in its proper frightening perspective. Please look at the book review and decide for yourself. From Khomeini's response on his return to Iran after 15 years of exile to today's events it all makes sense and the world better be concerned as there is more than idle threats and braggadocio coming from Ahmadinejad. Khomeini's Ghost - The Iranian Revolution and the ...

A reminder: When asked by a journalist how he felt upon returning to Iran after 15 years in exile. Khomeini’s curt, one-word reply “nothing” Whoa! From day one of his return to Iran Khomeini expressed no love for Iran only a love of the atom bomb. The drive even then was to possess a nuclear weapon though that desire is still denied until Iran can get their hands on one.

I have tried to give Iran the benefit of the doubt when they say their nuclear desires are peaceful knowing they could use nuclear power as an energy source for their growing population. I have always asserted that perceived need could be cover for the real goal of developing a nuclear weapon. I now believe it is!

IRG Ahmadinejad, the stolen election, the killing and imprisonment of the children of the Revolution, the violent crushing of all opposition, the clandestine nuclear program, It is all making sense, beware! Natanz, Qom, Isfahan, Bushehr, Natanz, how many more nuclear facilities? How will this end?

As this ratchets up instigated by the Basiji and the IRGC another reminder! You know how I feel about Iran's Revolutionary Guard Command, but now there are many pro Government citizens calling for the death of those against the current regime and the IRGC! Like most I believe the election was stolen. I originally though it had to be known right to the top but I do not think so. I now thing even Ayatollah Khamenei was duped about the stolen election. Some not all of the clerics have been dragged into bed with the IRG!

As you know, the IRGC was set up to protect the ruling authority after 1979 and are supposed to be controlled By Ayatollah Khamenei's authority. I know Ahmadinejad and 2/3 of his first 21 member cabinet are ex IRGC members and that simply reinforces that I am right to believe the IRGC has become the final authority not the Supreme leader. Do you think this can just be stopped now with all that is going on between Iran "via the IRG" , Iraq, the middle east, and the US?

The IRGC is in control of furthering Shiite demands around the Middle East! You know by no what they are doing in Yemen, Iraq, and everywhere they can in the Middle East. I now believe Khamenei is the power behind the crackdown but he is unknowingly enforcing a lie! Iran will not give up her nuclear weapons designs and will never give up power or efforts to dominate the Middle East. Ahmadinejad and the IRGC are the driving force and will not relent. Increasing sanctions will only work to defeat all the opposition has done.

You know, I have long said that Iran’s civilian nuclear program is a cover for their nuclear weapons program. You know that Arab leaders feel the same way. They fear a nuclear arms race and I can only conclude that knowing how far along Iran is and how they feel, that they are hedging their bets and an arms race is already under way clandestinely. The only question is when will it become an overt arms race and just how big the middle east explosion I have been predicting since Bush attacked Iraq, will be?

Canada is required to arrest George W Bush:

4
Canada is required to arrest George W Bush: “Canada is required by its international obligations to arrest and prosecute former president Bush given his responsibility for crimes under international law including torture,” Amnesty’s Susan Lee said in a statement. “As the U.S. authorities have, so far, failed to bring former president Bush to justice, the international community must step in. A failure by Canada to take action during his visit would violate the UN Convention Against Torture and demonstrate contempt for fundamental human rights,” Lee said.

The whole lot of the Bush cronies should be arrested. What the hell gives Cheney the right to decide whether or not he is going to cooperate with a Special prosecutor? Last week after it was announced there would be an investigation we wondered Who will take the fall and will it go to the top like it should? Cut it off at the head doesn't only apply to killing snakes! All right this is a good start but I thought appointing special prosecutors is a waste of time and money but believe Holder will do this right for once. We now know veteran prosecutor John Durham has been appointed to the task of holding a so called limited investigation "narrow in scope" of the CIA and"illegal" torture techniques.

We saw narrow in scope when Clinton was investigated for Whitewater and we ended up with Monica Lewinsky and Impeachment under Ken Starr? We are now hearing of CIA threats to kill suspects kids. One terrorist suspect was told his Mother would be sexually assaulted in front of him. One was told his family would be killed.Waving a handgun next to a prisoners head, revving a power drill next to his head while shackled and hand cuffed' whether you agree with it or not this is torture!

Bush Lawyers who okayed this torture and Cheney, Rummy, and Rice, who gave the go ahead should be prosecuted period. Cheney, Rummy, Rice, the Attorney General, they are the ones who should all be held accountable. They were the lying underhanded enablers in all the Bush misadministration injustice. They should not get away scot free but I expect they will. I think it is great that officially the White House is staying out of this and they must. I am sure Bush pundits made a deal with him that there would be no prosecutions by him of higher ups.

It’s no surprise that Karl Rove puts politics before due process, democracy and civil rights. That’s why even when faced with a subpoena from Congress, Rove has refused to testify. Unlike Don Siegelman, Karl Rove is breaking the law. Rove believes that he is not only above the law, but that he controls it. He’s wrong. Check out Send Karl Rove to Jail, and sign our petition to ensure that the House Judiciary Committee holds Rove in contempt.

It was actually already attempted by citizens in Iowa and Des Moines police arrested four people Friday who attempted a citizen's arrest of former White House adviser Karl Rove. Rove was in Des Moines to speak at a fundraiser. A news release says a retired minister and three members of the Des Moines Catholic Workers community were cited for trespassing and released.

The four accused Rove of election fraud and conspiracy to commit offense or to defraud the United States in the time before the Iraq war. The arrest complaint also says they accused Rove of treason, sedition and subversive activities for fraudulent acts leading to the deaths of 300,000 Iraqi civilians and 4,000 U.S. Military personnel. Kirk Brown and Mona Shaw, two of the four arrested Friday, attempted a similar arrest last March when Rove spoke at the University of Iowa. attempted citizens arrest of Rove

* I understand this has already been attempted on John Boltonz and Condi Rice. I do not see any of them ever being held accountable but like the WW2 Nazi's I am having increasing hope that people will wake up some day and hold the perpetrators of this still just developing nightmare even though it will come too late to affect the outcome!

I think it is not only calculated but great that the White House is staying out of this. This is perfect because Eric Holder will take charge. The special prosecutors will start with the interrogators and go right to the top. As you know I think the interrogators thought they were protected so should be disciplined but keep their jobs. However when they do get to the top heads should roll and holder is the man to see it through!

Holder said only techniques not authorized by the CIA should be investigated. Supposedly firing guns on the other sides of prisoners cells so they would believe they would be shot was something else that was not authorized by the CIA but that authorization order is what should be closely perused. If the CIA did not authorize it the interrogators should be prosecuted if not go right to the top and prosecute them to the limit of the law! Cheney and Rummy did and they are the ones who ultimately should be prosecuted.

It is beyond me how Cheney has gotten away from day one of being an obvious fascist dictator and above law. It was obvious from the day he picked himself as dictator I mean Vice President that he was the real Decider. Now the scum is saying Obama has gone against his word in allowing Holder to hold investigations. Cheney just gets more ignorant every day. This is not the Bush misadministration when the AG did Cheney and Bush's bidding to enable their illegalities! Ridge, Cheney Assailed Holder's Decision

Why are they letting Cheney foam at the mouth and placate his mindless followers? Why has no one spoken up and reminded that Obama is not above the law like Bush was. He to my knowledge is doing things right. He was very smart to have Holder do this. Someone should speak up and shut Cheney up! The Attorney General does not do Obama's bidding they are an independent agency for a good reason as you saw under Bush and Cheney.

Someone of consequence better start speaking up. We are watching ourselves devolve into chaos and we have idiots like Cheney saying they do not know if they are going to cooperate with the law or not. How the hell can he say whether I cooperate or not depends on whether or not I like the line of questioning? He is accused Holder of making this Political while he reasserted that he is above the law. Someone better start Growing some and quick! Cheney shrugged off CIA-torture investigation

If we can not arrest and jail Bush and all his treasonous enablers we can only hope they are stupid enough to go to another country where they must be held accountable by UN law. It is a sad commentary where they can roam around the US because for some screwed up reason they are above the law here. WTF?

US troops seal Afghan border with Pakistani North Waziristan: Think about the time, money, and deaths saved if we did this day one but...

US troops seal Afghan border with Pakistani North Waziristan: Tribesmen living in the border areas said Afghan and U.S. authorities had clamped a curfew in the Gurbaz area of Afghanistan 's Khost province and started house-to-house searches. The abrupt deployment of U.S. forces near the border area with Pakistan has escalated tension in the militancy-plagued North Waziristan tribal region as U.S. forces immediately sealed the main Ghulam Khan- Khost highway for traffic. This stranded more than 900 loaded trucks, including those carrying NATO consignments, and passenger vehicles the whole day.

Pakistani security officials and tribal sources in Ghulam Khan area said U.S. forces had arrived there during the night between Saturday and Sunday and occupied nearby hilltops and established observation posts. Sources said U.S. forces had set up a huge military base across the border and shifted gunship helicopters, heavy tanks, long-range artillery guns and other heavy weapons to the border area.
About damn time but knowing how many Muslim's feel I am reticent.

Since we went into Afghanistan against my better judgment we should have gone all the way right of the bat and sealed the Afghanistan Pakistan Border cutting off the safe haven for the Taliban and their source of reinforcements. As you remember, Bin laden and many of the leadership were trapped in Tora Bora right in that area. In the past I have said Bin Laden was allowed to escape so bush could use him to keep fervor up and Afghani's were credited with being responsible for his escape. We knew there were four ways out and only guarded three. We gave them a way out.

Not only that but I vaguely remember hearing about a 1,000 car caravan but it was never mentioned that we were bombing the area around it but allowed the 1,000 car caravan carrying the Bin Laden entourage to escape into Pakistan and at night, come on. Now this part really irks me and I for one never heard anything about it and still don't.

We have walked right into what many Muslim's believe is the End of Days Battlefield!

Now is the time I better remind you of something I first discussed 3 years ago because we really walked into this one but short of getting the hell out I don't know what else we could do at this time. With all my talk about Armageddon the Forever war and Pakistan Afghanistan being the front line this is frightening!

Pakistan Afghanistan front line one day further in preparation! Once you read "The Taliban get their wish" This is frightening! Every non Muslim in the world better read this and pay heed!

First it is a shame we do not ask Iran for help with the Taliban as Iran is on their menu too. Iran's hostility toward the Taliban predates Sept. 11: the Taliban's interpretation of Islam holds that the Shiite Muslims who dominate Iran are heretics, and an Iranian diplomat is among those being held by militants. Iranians are also concerned about the boom in opium poppy cultivation that has swept Afghanistan in the aftermath of the U.S. invasion."

We are in serious trouble as in my naivety I have hit the nail on the head more than a few times and have been right all along though ridiculed while this war against so called terrorism is perpetrated. I have said since 9/11 is like it or not will end up as a fight against all of Islam and nothing less than our survival is at stake.

I will sum up just one story that ties this whole mess together like it or not and that is "The Taliban get their first wish" As I never knew this and the entire world better frigging wake up because like it or not 9/11 was albeit a bad joke but just a joke as to what the future holds for us!

I had no idea when I mentioned that Pakistan and Afghanistan was the front line in this war against "Islamists" how right I was! finding this out just blew me away! I found out that many Muslim's believe that what is modern day Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Iran, is the promised land from where they will secure victory in the end of days battle which ultimately will be fought in Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria. Knowing this now makes sense of all the events we have been discussing with Syria, Lebanon, Gaza, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and to my surprise Iran. I had no idea Iran and the Taliban are enemies.

Please read the entire story. We had no choice from what I could see short of leaving right now and you know we are not that smart but man I just keep shaking my head. This has to be why my youngest's Engineer Battalion is going into the area next summer. The Taliban get their first wish By Syed Saleem Shahzadz Be careful what you ask for!

Eric Cantor cancelled his speech so the truth would not get out but here it is as he would have it hidden

Amid Occupy Philadelphia protesters and discrepancies in the attendance policy, United States House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) canceled his Wharton Leadership Lecture slated for Friday, Oct. 21 at 4:30 p.m. Cantor had planned to speak at Huntsman Hall about income inequality. Cantor was afraid there would be people there who would not stand for his bias destructive lies.

Eric Cantor | Wharton remarks, as prepared for delivery:This is a very controversial time in our nation’s history. A lot of us are asking what the future holds for our country, and in a much bigger way, wondering what kind of country do we want to be? When I think about the kind of country I want, when I think about the kind of country I want to leave my kids, I think about my grandmother’s story, and how my family got to America in the first place.

Cantor and all Republicans do not want out version of America he and all Republicans want Bush's version back and will destroy the country to get it back. I refuse to believe one of Obama's pundits has not seized on the fact that President Obama has had more world improving accomplishment than any President since FDR because he did not need the Republicans to do it.

However here at home he has accomplished nothing for the good of average American's and our version of America because Republicans have vowed to block and make him fail in everything.

Obama said Republicans would 'cripple' America and you better believe it: Faced with a recalcitrant Congress and Republicans who accuse him of waging class warfare over his call to raise taxes on millionaires and billionaires, Obama told supporters Sunday to brace for a "tough" reelection campaign."This is going to be especially hard because a lot of people are discouraged and a lot of people are disillusioned," Obama said at a fundraising event in Seattle, Washington."I'm determined because there's too much at stake.

You better believe it! Be very afraid, it is going to happen whether they take back control or not. They will be more ruthless if they lose. They will settle for nothing less than total collapse then Blame it on Obama so they can get back in and finish us and Bush's agenda off!

Republican's were hoping the fanatic Governor Perry was their man but as they observe how "mad" unstable and inadequate he is they are turning their attention to Governor Christie who does have a shot at the Presidency but his weight and ill health will be the issue. I believe he will pick up the gauntlet in the end but he will be defeated. In the end Obama's second term is going to be hell and Republican's will be a hell of a lot worse than they are now believe it or not. God help us because Republican's won't.

As I explained, I saw a post on the fact that the Republicans have the goal of destroying the the middle class, elderly, and ailing. Some that hear that I am sure would say that was a bit hard because they are trying to save the country. They are not trying to save the country, they are trying to get Bush's version back on track. They will say and do anything to achieve that.

I remember when then President Bush wanted to revamp Social Security but due to outrage he could not. I remember when Mitt Romney was stumping for McCain when he was running for President against Obama and I was horrified when he told the audience the Democratic party was the countries biggest enemy because we tried to take care of the poor, sick, and elderly.

Romney said Social Security had to be ended. Social Security is making money still, it is not our problem. The Republican party wanting to put an end to our version of America is our problem. The fact that the gap between the wealthy and and those barely making it continues to widen. That is the goal my friends and has been since Bush.

There is no surprise here. Only by me that after all these years people still do not get what is going on. It will be horrible if the Republicans can lie and play enough fools to get back in control to finish us and Bush's agenda off and get their new version of America back on track. I first put this together in 2003 figuring people would see the obvious, get the word out, and act on it. The situation is getting grave people if you have not noticed.

A little reciting and hopefully enlightenment: Bush was following what I know as the Russian Doctrine of Destruction used in the 19th century to tear down the old Government and order and replace it with a new version. Please read this! It is very important and you now know right on: Bush's Forever War! Experts think they found a way around this mess. I'm sick of saying it, Bush/Reagan pundits won't be stopped and failure to us is total success for them! Before you go on remember Bush destroyed America and world order completely and flew away proud of what he did. Okay please continue and remember this was under Bush.

I was listening to Pelosi talking about being confused why Bush didn't see the effect he was having on the middle class when he was President. Now the Republicans are further destroying their lives and upset when they hit a roadblock.

Of course he did! He had been purposely changing our societal order from day one.Republicans want to continue that elitist society as you must notice in their actions. Have you read Bush uncovered on my main page? Bush did not fail in the war on terror. Bush did not fail with our society. To him it was a qualified success. He was following Reagan's mess. It has to be kept alive for his new world order Forever Wars so it was a complete success to him. Now it is Obama's.

If you read Bush Uncovered which I wrote 7 years ago (that's 2003 folks) but no one gets it, Bush was following the Russian Doctrine of Destruction and must create war and disorder to replace it with his new idea of order and to destroy the middle class here.I have been trying to wake people up since day one but no one is listening or getting it. I am afraid it is too late as much beyond our control has been set into play around the world and in the United States. Despite the advent of Obama nothing seems to have changed for whatever reason.

No one seems to get it but all the waking up and organizing against Bush in the world was worthless because he was given too much power as a result of 9/11 and the Patriot Act and now the power is in Obama's hands. The entire world will be engulfed in Bush's Forever War as planned from day one. What a frigging mess.

Kenya military join fight against Al Shabab with help from the US and France in Somalia

Kenya military join fight against Al Shabab with help from the US and France in Somalia: so the forever war continues to widen: Are we the terrorists?

The Kenya military has been ordered into action to stop al Shabab militia from further threatening the country's security and economy. At a press briefing on Saturday, the country's top security chiefs declared war on the terrorist organization operating from Somalia and said Kenyan security forces will henceforth pursue the aggressors across the border.

Kenyan troops have crossed the border into war-torn Somalia to attack Islamist al-Shabab rebels they accuse of being behind several recent kidnappings of foreigners. "We have crossed into Somalia in pursuit of al-Shahab, who are responsible for the kidnappings and attacks on our country," government spokesman Alfred Matua said on Sunday.

Kenya's military is said to be the most professional in Africa but they have never been deployed in a war situation in the region and this will be the first time they will go after foreign combatants who have threatened Kenya's territorial integrity. The more the merrier!

Maj. Emmanuel Chirchir, said that the United States or France, or possibly both, had stepped up airstrikes in the past few days, killing a number of Shabab militants. The French Navy has also shelled rebel positions from the sea, Kenyan officials said. The United States and France have not confirmed involvement in Somalia.

If Western military powers have indeed joined the conflict, analysts said, it could mark a turning point against the Shabab, a ruthless militant group that has pledged allegiance to Al Qaeda. It controls much of southern Somalia, though its young fighters and battered pick-up trucks are deemed no match for a sophisticated army.

The world is closing in on Al Shabab I am happy to say. Al Shabab was offered Amnesty about a month ago and they better take it while they can.

Somalia's government has offered an open amnesty to al-Shabab fighters after the rebels made a surprise withdrawal from the capital, Mogadishu, over the weekend."We offer an amnesty - put down your weapons and your guns, and come and join the people and your society," Abdirahman Osman, a government spokesman, was quoted as saying by the AFP news agency on Tuesday."For those who have been misled by the senior commanders, now is the time to end the war

You may remember Somalia has a new militia faction that is about the only group in the country to go against the al-Shabab and win. The Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jama - followers of Sufism or mystical Islam - are mostly volunteering students who say they have no political ambitions beyond expelling al-Shabab from the capital, one district at a time. Time to put them in overdrive as you will agree. Don't forget the Al Shabab killers Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jamma

President Obama said Friday that he had ordered the deployment of 100 armed military advisers to central Africa to help regional forces combat the Lord’s Resistance Army, a notorious renegade group that has terrorized villagers in at least four countries with marauding bands that kill, rape, maim and kidnap with impunity. “For more than two decades, the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) has murdered, raped and kidnapped tens of thousands of men, women and children in central Africa,” Mr. Obama wrote in a letter to Congress announcing the military deployment. “The LRA continues to commit atrocities across the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and South Sudan that have a disproportionate impact on regional security.” We are supposedly winding down in Iraq and Afghanistan so I guess an upcoming war with Iran is not enough we now have to try to "cleans" Africa of terrorists. WTF?

In his first reaction to US charges that Iran was involved in a plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to Washington, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Sunday that not Iran but the United States were terrorists.'(The culture of) terrorism belongs to you,' I am afraid at this point that I agree with the mad man but WTF are we that are being lied to going to do?

Yemen: U.S. Strike Kills Local Al Qaeda Media Chief Ibrahim al-Bana along with six other militants after killing Anwar al-Awlaki

Is Al Qaeda really going down? Can anyone really think it matters or we are winning this so called war on terror? Yemen: U.S. Strike Kills Local Al Qaeda Media Chief: A U.S. airstrike has killed the media chief for Al Qaeda's Yemeni branch along with six other militants including Al-Awlaki's son, Yemen's government and security officials said Saturday, in the second high-profile American missile attack in as many weeks to target the terror group.

The strike, which follows the killing of prominent U.S.-born cleric Anwar al-Awlaki in a similar American missile attack late last month, points to Washington's growing use of drones to hit al Qaeda militants in Yemen. The targeted attacks appear to be part of a determined effort to stamp out the threat from the group, known as al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, which U.S. officials have said is the terror network's most active and most dangerous branch. The slain media chief, identified as Egyptian-born Ibrahim al-Bana, was killed along with six other militants in the southeastern province of Shabwa on Friday night.

'US delivered justice to Osama bin Laden; Al Qaeda on path to defeat': We can't be this stupid? Well are they?

US delivered justice to Osama bin Laden; Al Qaeda on path to defeat
Ahead of the 10th anniversary of 9/11 attacks by al-Qaeda, President Barack Obamaz on Friday said the US delivered justice to Osama bin Laden, who was killed in a covert American raid in Pakistan on May 2, and declared the terror network is on the path to defeat. "The perpetrators of those (9/11) attacks wanted to terrorize us, but they are no match for our resilience. Today, our country is more secure and our enemies are weaker. We can't be this stupid?

What about Al Qaeda in Iraq? I know we are blaming increased bombings on them having resurged. What about Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula? What about Al Shabab and other Al Qaeda associates in Somalia? What about Al Qaeda in Yemen who we blame for attempted bombings on the US and around the world? What about the lone wolfs in the US and around the world? the sleeper cells? We have won or defeated nothing! This is just beginning!

Three Terrorist Groups in Africa Pose Threat to US, American Commander Says: General Ham made clear that the three militant organizations — the Al Shabab in Somalia, Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb across the Sahel region of northern Africa and Boko Haram in northern Nigeria — had not yet shown the capability to mount significant attacks outside their homelands.

If you have been following me you know that this so called war on terror in my mind was long instigated by the west and is just beginning. Personally I am sick of hearing how we are killing Al Qaeda and Taliban leaders and weakening the so called war on terror. First this is not a war on terror and we are winning nothing it is just beginning.

Like it or not this is a war against the majority of Islam. It is a Religious war and that is only part of it around the world! I am sick of hearing world leaders come out after an attack on our interests saying they strongly condemn the actions of the so called terrorists! So what! That is absolutely worthless! Now we are in Uganda and a few other African countries supposedly only with advisers. Hell that is the way we started in Vietnam. What the hell is wrong with us? What is next? WTF?

From the beginning the so called terrorists said they wanted us off their lands which will never happen so what does Bush do he attacks them and rubs salt in the wound. We have our work cut out for us and will have to fight and it will be much longer than anyone can imagine. I said years ago that as we know Religious wars are the longest and the dirtiest and this will be the worst and at a point in time when our Planet is at a point in its life cycle where it may not survive and be life sustaining as we need it to survive as we know it!

Anyway you look at it this so called terrorism fiasco is just beginning and will be fought for many generations. I am of the frame of mind that these people will only get better and more desperate over time. They are learning from us every day and we better start learning from them. Do not trust in your leaders keep an eye peeled! The war on terrorism is will not go away and will have to be fought to win regardless of how long, period.

Drone strike killed most senior Haqqani member and trusted Deputy of leader Sirajuddin yet as the noose continues to tighten

U.S. missiles killed six suspected militants in northwestern Pakistan near the Afghan border Saturday, Pakistani intelligence officials said. The strikes were part of a flurry of such attacks which could indicate a more aggressive American strategy against insurgents finding sanctuary there.

The United States is pressing Pakistan for action against Afghan insurgents in the region, especially the Haqqani network that it says is the No. 1 threat in Afghanistan and receives assistance from the Pakistan army. Independently of what Pakistan does, Washington may up the tempo of missile strikes or widen their targeting, although either option could strain its already complicated relationship with Islamabad.

Drone strike killed senior Haqqani member, US says“It’s probably the most senior death of any Haqqani network member in Pakistan to date, if it’s true,” said Jeffrey Dressler of the Washington-based Institute for the Study of War. “He’s on everybody’s radar.” Dressler and other experts said Zadran was not an active fighter but was in charge of group’s finances and arms shipments.

The strike followed several tense weeks in the U.S.-Pakistan relationship, as the Obama administration publicly alleged direct ties between the Haqqani network and Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence agency. The United States has said that the Haqqani network is the most significant threat to U.S. and coalition forces in eastern Afghanistan and has warned of increasingly direct action against the militant group’s haven in the Pakistani tribal area of North Waziristan if Pakistan does not move against it.

Pakistani militants bury 2 men killed alongside top commander in US strike: The four were riding in a car close to Miran Shah town, the main base of the Haqqani network, when two missiles struck, said the officials, who did not give their names because they were not allowed to brief reporters. U.S. intelligence believes the Haqqanis are the top threat to security in Afghanistan and that they enjoy the support of the Pakistani army. It wants the army to sever its ties and attack the group, something that Islamabad refuses to do.

As we just discussed: An American missile strike killed a ranking member of the militant Haqqani network on Thursday in northwestern Pakistan, striking a group that Washington claims is the No. 1 threat in Afghanistan and is supported by Pakistani security forces, local intelligence officials said: They identified the Haqqani member as Jalil and said he was a "coordinator" for the group. The men were walking down a street when the drone-fired missile hit, the officials said. One said Jalil was related to Sirajuddin Haqqani, the leader of the network.

In the above strike At least 10 suspected militants have been killed in two apparent US drone strikes in Pakistan, officials say.A strike in North Waziristan killed four suspected militants. Officials say one of the dead is a commander from the Haqqani militant network. Another attack targeted a compound in South Waziristan, killing at least six suspected militants, officials said. The volatile tribal region where many insurgents have taken shelter is frequently targeted by drone missiles.

Senior Haqqani Network Leader Killed in Afghan Airstrike: The militant, known only as Dilawar, was killed Tuesday during the strike in the Musa Khel district. A statement says two of his associates were also killed in the strike. NATO says Dilawar was a "principal subordinate' to Haji Mali Khan, the main leader of the Haqqani network in Afghanistan. It says he died exactly one week following Khan's capture.

Senior Haqqani leader captured in Afghanistan: NATO: Nato-led forces said on Saturday that they had captured the senior commander for the Haqqani network in Afghanistan, Haji Mali Khan, during an operation in eastern Paktia province earlier in the week. Mr Khan is “the uncle of Siraj and Badruddin Haqqani ... one of the highest ranking members of the Haqqani network and a revered elder of the Haqqani clan,” Siraj, or Sirajuddin, Haqqani and his brother, Badruddin, are sons of veteran Afghan militant commander Jalaluddin Haqqani. The Haqqani's are going down!

Afghans hand out satellite images of Taliban hideouts to Pakistan: Talking tough, Afghanistan has alleged Pakistan had advance knowledge of the plot to assassinate former President Burhanuddin Rabbani and said Islamabad was refusing to cooperate in investigations of the crime. Afghan officials have also said that they have handed over satellite images ofhouses of top leaders of the Taliban in the capital of Balochistan, Quetta, but Pakistani security forces were not taking action against them, New York Times reported.

These days the Haqqani's and Pakistan have parted ways, Pakistan after Afghanistan and the Haqqani's are after us at least for now.

With the death of Osama Bin Laden we were asked what his death would mean for the war in Afghanistan. Like the so called war on terror which includes the Taliban, Al Qaeda of every creed, and extremists of every ilk looking to carry on Osama's vendetta against the west, it will serve to fuel their cause. His death should mean just the opposite and it does to all true Muslims.UBL "Osama Bin Laden, betrayed Islam!

The Haqqani's are most important to the war on extremists in Afghanistan. Eradicating them is of utmost importance to our ability to succeed and go home as we hopefully really are in the process of right now. There is good reason why we are having increasing success but first, the Haqqani's and their legendary stature are holding the so called terrorists force together. Their stature is legendary and hard earned.

The Haqqani network and their increasingly foreign fighters have become the main focus after 9 years of fighting. The Haqqani Network's North Waziristan leadership -- usually called the Miram Shah Shura consists of a number of Haqqani family members and closely associated long-serving commanders.

At the top of the network is Sirajuddin Haqqani, who oversees the group's political and military activities and is the main liaison to the Mullah Muhammad Omar led Quetta Shura Taliban, the Taliban's leadership body (named for the capital of Pakistan's Baluchistan province). He is also one of the network's liaisons to Pakistani Taliban figures and al-Qaeda.

He travels regularly into Afghanistan 'or did" to coordinate with field commanders and occasionally to Peshawar and South Waziristan to connect with militants there. Remember Bowe Bergdahl? There are many field commanders in Afghanistan, but turnover is high because many get killed or captured. The most prominent is Mullah Sangin, who is believed to be holding Pfc. Bowe Bergdahl a captured U.S. soldier and Zakim Shah the movement's shadow governor of Khost province. Inside the Haqqani network

Jalaluddin Haqqani legendary leader who fought the Soviets and his son, Sirajuddin who directs operations are increasingly the targets of drones and now manned NATO aircraft in Pakistan as the Pakistani's have been leery to go in the area for whatever reason. Many are being killed, I heard over 80 in a week with no civilian casualties.

Anyway now we have killed 80 more in one encounter at a so called "secret camp" Bad days and bad times for the Taliban, they are being decimated There is a reason for this success as I said!

The Taliban think they are getting away with something but they are being watched closely by JSOC ready to pounce and take them out when given the command. I say give it now and save lives. My guess is the command has been given because the Haqqani's have been going down en-masse. The network is important but I think "they" should take out the Haqqani's first. I wish we would quickly kill the Haqqani's, both Jalaluddin and Sirajuddin and leave the rest to Pakistan and Afghanistan.

I have to laugh! The Haqqani's are not stupid they know how to play the game. They know we have long accused Pakistan more pointedly the ISI of controlling the Haqqanis. They also know that of late we have come out and accused elements of the Government and ISI of initiating the action against the west and Afghanistan.

Sadly the ISI has been complicit with the Haqqani's, Mullah Omar and other anti Afghanistan and anti American extremists from the beginning. The CIA was complicit with the ISI. The killing of 7 CIA agents by a suicide bomber changed this for the CIA. However you are not going to get the ISI to "switch sides" They have had a relationship with the Haqqani's since they were helping them fight the Russians.

Anyway you look at it we are viewed as temporary and the violent convoluted backstabbing tribal relationships will always be a way of life in the border area especially. We can only be very concerned how this is going to turn out between NATO, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. It won't be translucent or good!

*When all is said and done I believe in the old adage "there is honor amongst thieves" I do believe Sirajuddin Haqqani when he said he is talking to the CIA and the Haqqani's had nothing to do with killing Rabbani. I absolutely believe Pakistani interests did it as has been proven out. The Haqqani's seem to be home based in Afghanistan now and have wisely severed their ties with Pakistan.

The Haqqani's seem true to Mullah Omar who want us out of Afghanistan and want their independent Afghanistan. Pakistan has proven they do not want a free and independent Afghanistan but want to control it. At this point I want to say our soldiers have done their job let them come home as scheduled if not sooner. Let Mullah Omar the Haqqani's and other Taliban interests fight for Afghanistan it is theirs not ours or Pakistan's. Good luck Hamid Karzai that's all I say!

Why the "bungled" assassination plot by Iran is another lie in the lie we have lived since 9/11

5 reasons to be skeptical of allegations : Did an elite branch of Iran's military handpick a divorced, 56-year-old Iranian-American used-car salesman from Texas to hire a hit man from a Mexican drug cartel to assassinate the ambassador to Saudi Arabia by blowing up a bomb in a crowded restaurant in Washington? U.S. officials say they are certain the bizarre plot against Ambassador Adel Jubeir was real. But some analysts say they are not. They find it unlikely that the Iranian government, or legitimate factions within, would be involved in such a tangled plot. They cite five reasons why: We call this an act of war? Anyway:

I can cite more than that and I am right! Remember the so called anthrax attacks our Government perpetrated and at first tried to blame on terrorists before they had to settle for blaming it on a loyal scholarly scientist who conveniently "killed himself" before outside sources could question him? The anthrax attack lies Remember Congress would not pass the Patriot Act giving Bush the power to do what he wanted after 9/11? Right after that the so called Anthrax attacks scared them into giving Bush what he wanted!

Remember that farce they called truth commission hearings where Bush and Cheney were allowed to hold hands and pick the questions so they were not caught lying about 9/11, the anthrax attacks and our lead up to war. The lies involving 9/11

Remember the lead up to the lie of an illegal war on Iraq? I called it the 10 point plan as every single time the Government came up with an excuse to attack Iraq it was thwarted and the Bush regime changed their excuse 10 times until they found one the Congress fell for though we the people knew it was all a lie. Bush's 10 point plan used to attack Iraq

The Government has been doing the same thing as they strive to go to war with Iran to once again influence the direction of their Government, stop their nuclear program, and help Israel form a buffer zone. All this was only a small party of our original reason to attack Iraq so we could get our military back into the middle east.

Remember A clean Break and we Are purposely fighting the wrong wars

Read "we do not have clean hands in Afghanistan" and too much will make sense. Search here or look at our own Government's documented facts. The plan went back to 1996 and they only needed an idiot to push it through. Along came Bush and the stolen election. Cheney picked himself for vice President and the new middleast war drive began

Helping Israel form a buffer zone and going after Iran were only 2 of the goals and real reason for attacking Iraq. So now we have the war in Afghanistan being our longest in our history and the hell Bush created in Iraq spreading throughout the Middle East which any idiot knew would be the case from the get go. Now we are over extended with the army and the marines and we are told if war breaks out with North Korea we will use the navy and they are not over extended.

I beg to differ! Isn't that them defending the gulf? What about the tsunami? Haiti? They are needed in this Gulf disaster I would say. Anyway we should have focused immediately on North Korea and Iran now they are both threatening to erupt in what I long ago coined correctly so as Bush's forever war. It has taken on a life of its own and we will have no choice but to react.

I know we have armed our so called allies in the Middle East to fight Iran on the ground supposedly while our so called unextended navy can go after them from the Gulf. Remember the hundred years war? Enough said! Don't forget the worlds growing water wars and food wars. Look what we have let the oil companies in this corporatocracy do to our environment in the Gulf of Mexico compliments of Bush and Cheney, look at the worlds financial collapse compliments of Bush and Cheney, look at our on going wars compliments of Bush and Cheney I will stop but what a frigging mess we have coming.,

In closing: We are living a total lie today and sadly this only a small part of it. This so called joke called an assassination attempt by Iran's IRG using Mexican drug cartel's on US soil does not fit Iran's M.O. This charade however does fit ours as we look once again for a way to create a war while making ourselves appear to be the innocent victim. We have long been prepared to attack Iran from the gulf and only lacked the excuse. We may have it now! 4 1/2 years ago we had 5 aircraft carriers in the Gulf and I said war with Iran is coming There are no surprises here only that most do not see the totally controlled lie thy are living today!

Opium production up again: Let the Taliban back in power and get the people to grow Pomegranates

Bush's opium production in Afghanistan rises 61% in 2011: they want to know why and how to reduce it? Let the Taliban back in power and get the people to grow Pomegranates. Haven't they noticed by now Opium growth is increasing with a resurgence by the Taliban?

Opium production in Afghanistan rose by 61% this year compared with 2010, according to a UN report. The increase has been attributed to rising opium prices that have driven farmers to expand cultivation of the illicit opium poppy by 7% in 2011.

You know, my first thought when I saw this record opium Production in Afghanistan I thought back to previous discussions on Afghanistan and the failure Bush guaranteed there, in Iraq, and the entire middle east, when he ignored all advice to the contrary and attacked Iraq not to unseat Saddam but to get our military into the middle east. That is for another discussion!

I remembered that I did a story in the past when it was announced that Afghanistan had a record year harvesting 6,700 tons. More than the entire world market could consume. At the time Production increased 49 percent from the year before thanks to the US. The estimated 6,700 tons even broke the world record of 1999, when 5,764 tons of opium were produced globally. Taking into account that the insurgency derives a significant amount of revenue from drugs, I decided to research just what has happened to the Opium trade since we attacked Afghanistan.

First it seems to me that criticism of Clinton aside, I think we could have gone about this differently too. I don't know why we could not have done a surgical strike or even used unmanned aircraft as we have since, and then tried Diplomacy. Instead as Bush attacked Iraq and created an insurgent and sectarian civil war where there was none. He attacked Afghanistan and created an over abundance of opium. I was stunned when I got to thinking about opium production when the Taliban was in power and researched it.

The following information is from a story by the BBC in 2002. First, The Taliban banned poppy cultivation in 2000 so in 2001 production was down to 185 tons. Then by 2002 production went up to 3,400 tons That is around 18 times higher than 2001's unusually low figure of 185 tons, which followed the ban on cultivation imposed by the Taliban in the last year of their rule. I have to wonder what they were growing in lieu of opium to survive and I don't know about this but the increase is blamed on poverty-stricken farmers taking advantage of the power vacuum and it is not the fault of Kabul or the U.N. The BBC 2002

Every year since we attacked Afghanistan opium production has continued to climb. This year Production has increased again dramatically. It is no ones fault and no one knows how to control it. The 2007 report shows that In 2006, Afghanistan accounted for 92 percent of global illicit opium production, up from 70 percent in 2000 and 52 percent a decade earlier. The higher yields in Afghanistan brought global opium production to a record high of nearly 7,300 tons in 2007 a 43 percent increase over 2005.

The area under opium poppy cultivation in the country has also expanded, from nearly 257,000 acres in 2005 to more than 407,000 acres in 2006 — an increase of about 59 percent. "This is the largest area under opium poppy cultivation ever recorded in Afghanistan," the report said. UNODC (U.N. office of Drugs and crime) Executive Director Antonio Maria Costaz warned that Afghanistan's insurgency-plagued Helmand province was becoming the world's biggest drug supplier, with opium cultivation there larger than in the rest of the country put together.

She is right that controlling Poppy cultivation would go a long way towards bringing security to the Region. To me it would go a long way in defunding the Taliban but I haven't heard any real solution and to me, again if they were serious an answer is very obvious.

For the sixth straight year, the amount of land under opium cultivation has fallen in Southeast Asia. From 1998-2006, that region's share of world opium poppy cultivation has decreased from 67 percent to just 12 percent, largely due to declines in cultivation in Myanmar, the report said. Southeast Asia's total opium production in 2006 was just 370 tons, it said. Fox news 2007

All the while Afghanistan's production has grown exponentially and has more than replaced it. we cannot even control poppy cultivation let alone the Taliban. We cannot control cultivation so to me the obvious answer is to control the market. Buy all the poppy's produced and control what is done with them. It seems to me that we could find an al alternative use for it, keep the people employed, save lives and gain friends while undermining the Taliban. Doesn't this sound feasible? Why are we not doing something along this line?

All that aside we really should let the Taliban lead again and get the people to grow pomegranates as we explained years ago. Russia blames Nato for drug surge Well!

Afghanistan's poppy crop was essentially eradicated by the Taliban until Bush attacked them for not letting him put a pipeline through Afghanistan. As a result of the attack Afghanistan now is the worlds predominate grower and alone produces more than the entire world can consume! This made Bush the Taliban's premier money source!

Now this ancient land is telling the world that it has a trendy, new replacement for its dreaded poppy crop: sweet, juicy pomegranates. The country will stamp a logo on all boxes of the pomegranate for export: a drawing of the sliced, red fruit with seeds spilling out and a label that announces, "Anar, Afghan Pomegranate."

Anar is the word for pomegranate in various regional languages. Afghanistan officials hope the Western-style sales savvy will raise the pomegranate's cachet and provide its farmers with a lucrative alternative to growing opium poppies. It's the latest step in a $12 million, U.S.-funded initiative to modernize and expand Afghanistan's pomegranate industry, which has long depended on domestic sales and small-scale exports to nearby countries. Even these exports have been severely hit by years of border fighting.

Even though the Afghan pomegranate is considered one of the best in the world, it has been very much a local delicacy. The fruit is about the size of an apple, with a thick, reddish skin and hundreds of seeds embedded in tough, white pulp. This time of year, the red seed casings are consumed everywhere in Kabul — as juice, spooned straight from the fruit, or piled on a tray and sold by the scoop to picnickers in parks

Source of antioxidants: Pomegranates are riding a wave of popularity in Europe and the United States, where they are celebrated for their high levels of antioxidants, which protect cells from damage by compounds called free radicals. U.S. domestic supply comes largely from California's San Joaquin Valley, augmented by imports from Israel, Turkey, Lebanon, Greece and Mexico.

Four years ago now Afghanistan exported its first pomegranates to outlets of the French chain Carrefour in Dubai. The fruit, larger and redder than many pomegranates imported from Turkey or North Africa, was a hit. Carrefour quickly placed orders for all its Middle East stores, according to U.S. funders and Afghan officials."

They found out that Anar from Afghanistan is probably the best tasting. It's sweet; it's juicy," Afghanistan Agriculture Minister Mohammad Asif Rahimi said at the launch ceremony at a Kabul hotel Wednesday. Afghanistan's best export — agricultural or otherwise — is opium. It produced 8,200 tons of the drug in 2007, up 34 percent from the previous year. Though opium production is expected to drop back this year, Afghanistan will remain the world's largest producer of the crop by far. Hopefully Pomegranates will replace Opium Why not? Why are we not working towards this? We are our own worse frigging problem always and it is driving me crazy!

Iran is getting desperate: Battleships off our coast now assassination attempts in Washington DC

Iran has had a proxy war with Saudi Arabia in Iraq, Yemen, Syria, Lebanon, Bahrain, indeed in the whole of the Middle East looking to control which way the new middle east order takes.

Our friends Iran's IRG "Iranian Revolutionary Guard" is the most militant of Iran's militant wings "Iran's seal team 6" They are on the cusp of Iran's instigation around the Middle East and now it appears the world. Wanting to put battleships off our coast now an assassination attempt on Saudi Arabia's Ambassador in Washington DC

Senior U.S. official: Plot to kill Saudi ambassador thwarted: U.S. agents have disrupted an Iranian "murder-for-hire" scheme targeting Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the United States, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said Tuesday.Holder said the alleged plan was directed by elements of the Iranian government. A naturalized U.S. citizen holding Iranian and U.S. passports and a member of Iran's revolutionary guard were involved, the FBI said in a statement."The U.S. is committed to holding Iran accountable," Holder said.

I almost want to laugh! Why don't they try to rob Fort Knox? Anyway this is not funny, I remember years ago when Iran said they had thousands of sleeper cells already in the country waiting to be activated. We arrested the Iranian, US citizen but the other member supposedly from the Qods force part of the IRG is in "another country"

As you know, the IRGC was set up to protect the ruling authority after 1979 and are supposed to be controlled By Ayatollah Khamenei authority. I know Ahmadinejad and 2/3 of his first 21 member cabinet were ex IRGC members and that simply reinforces that I am increasingly led to think the IRGC has become the final authority not the Supreme leader.

The Supreme leader is appearing as a puppet needed to keep the religious leaders together and to make it appear that they are still in charge. They have become a major force capable of taking control of Iran and I am afraid nothing less than that is what has happened.

Not only has the IRGC perpetrated the horror and brutality we all witnessed in and out of jail during the protests after the stolen election to keep Ahmadinejad and the IRG in power and lord knows the horror we will never know about but to add insult to injury The IRGC is in control of furthering Shiite demands around the Middle East!

You know by now what they are doing in Yemen, Iraq, Syria and everywhere they can in the Middle East. I now believe Khamenei is unknowingly enforcing a lie and Ahmadinejad and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard are pulling the strings.!

Iran to send ships near U.S. waters: Iran plans to send ships near the Atlantic coast of the United States, state-run Islamic Republic News Agency reported T, quoting a commander. "The Navy of the Iranian Army will have a powerful presence near the United States borders," read the headline of the story, in Farsi. "Commander of the Navy of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran broke the news about the plans for the presence of this force in the Atlantic Ocean and said that the same way that the world arrogant power is present near our marine borders, we, with the help of our sailors who follow the concept of the supreme jurisprudence

Why do I want to laugh? I thought Iran was running out of food, water, oil, and money and only partly because of sanctions imposed by the west? State-run Press TV said Sayari had announced similar plans in July. In February, two Iranian Navy ships traversed the Suez Canal in the first such voyages by Iranian ships since 1979.

U.S. Defense Department officials had no immediate reaction to the announcement. The United States has deployed fleets to the Persian Gulf in the past. Iran feels the US intimidates them so they will intimidate us. It is not that easy. I don't believe they can handle the logistics unless Russia helps them.

State-run Press TV, citing IRNA, said the announcement came as Iran also plans to send its 16th fleet of warships to the Gulf of Aden to protect Iranian vessels and oil tankers from pirates, who have hijacked dozens of ships and exchanged their crews for ransom.

The Islamic Republic has repeatedly assured that its military might poses no threat to other countries, stating that Tehran's defense doctrine is based only on deterrence, Press TV reported in a story in July about the deployment of submarines to international waters. What are we supposed to think?

I have to laugh! After many conversations I remember 10 years ago Bush attacked Iraq to get in the middle east with only one goal being getting into a war with Iran. After many attempts by the US and the IRG in Iraq, the Gulf and on Iraq and Iran's border both sides failed to instigate the war.

With the US now having an excuse to further tighten sanctions on Iran with them calling what may be a facade involving Mexican drug dealers in a failed execution attempt on the Saudi Ambassador we are now furthering the Saudi Iranian proxy war in the middle east.

We also in declaring this an act of war have the excuse to go after Iran's warships if they are lucky and foolish enough to get them off our coast. Again I say one way or the other at the very least war with Iran is coming. I only hope we can keep it from escalating into WW3.

Obama Calls America “Soft,” Offers to Whip Nation Into Shape: I am afraid we have been since 9/11

Obama Calls America “Soft,” Offers to Whip Nation Into Shape: "The way I think about it is, you know, this is a great, great country that had gotten a little soft and, you know, we didn't have that same competitive edge that we needed over the last couple of decades. We need to get back on track."

I may be ostracized but I am afraid that in many instances I agree that we were soft. With that said I have to admit that since George W Bush we have been undergoing a baptism by fire and not just in our wars but for average Americans in every facet of our lives.

I must admit that well before 9/11 happened I was convinced that our youth and the country as a whole had been so spoiled and softened up by our life style that we were going to be in severe trouble if we thought we were going to be able to count on them in our hour of need.

The media had me convinced that we had already experienced our "Greatest Generation" in saving the day for us and the world during WW2 almost 70 years ago now. I am happy to say "Boy was I ever wrong" Our youth including a few of my sons have stepped up and are patriotic and serving magnificently in what is just beginning but has already become the longest war in History.

That as you know is barely the beginning of our story and our "toughening up". We as America's blue collar population and back bone have watched our "soft" life kicked out from underneath us. No body that I am aware of is just sitting around living the good life getting fat if they are it is not because they want to.

40 million have lost their homes, 17 million have lost their jobs, 50 million are on food stamps, that means they are all living on the dole and this is still barely beginning for us too like it or not. Media and politicians like to play their ignorant worthless childish games saying they fear another recession is coming, they think they are being coy calling it a "double dip recession"

This is not a double dip recession it is the same one only getting worse as we have said it would since Bush caused it when he was in office. We have been in Afghanistan now for 10 years and Iraq is right behind it. Stupidly we are trying to keep our military Heroes in both of them for decades to come.

The entire middle east is exploding as we knew it would and who knows where our military will be asked to go to next? Who can guarantee millions of people whose lives have been upended and worsened since George Bush was elected? No on can! They will get much worse! The tent cities will multiply as will those fighting for food supplied by the Government or NGO's (non Government organizations).

The second revolution is coming and it is being fed by the tempest party rebelling against the tea party and their wall street, corporation, Government, destroyed lives. People are starting to fight for survival, they are no longer soft and I am happy to say they are finally beginning to show here at home that they remember how to fight and are willing to.

In pictures: Wall Street austerity and economic protests go global:

In pictures: Worldwide protests

Wall Street sit-in protest goes global: Protesters worldwide geared up for a cry of rage on Saturday against bankers, financiers and politicians they accuse of ruining global economies and condemning millions to poverty and hardship through greed.
Galvanized by the past month's Occupy Wall Street movement, the global protest began on a sunny spring day in New Zealand and is due to ripple round the world to Alaska via Frankfurt, London, Washington and New York.

Many Europeans spent Saturday showing solidarity with the Occupy Wall Street movement in New York, by answering the call for a day of protests against economic injustice and government cuts. In the European Union’s capital Brussels, around 7,000 people demonstrated against austerity measures and corporate greed. Some of them were outside a branch of Dexia, the Belgian-French financial institution that recently received a four billion euro bailout.

Protesters also gathered in Madrid’s Puerta del Sol plaza, a site significant for Spain’s Indignados, whose aims were also being supported through worldwide protests on Saturday. At the height of the Indignado campaign, the plaza was a campsite for demonstrators calling for the government to deal with unemployment and stop welfare cuts.

Of course the US is taking credit for starting this but as we know it was the Arab spring countries. It is however right that the US pick up the gauntlet and lead the way.

we the average citizens of every country regardless of ethnicity are fighting for the same thing. We are all fighting because we are being lied to , controlled, we have no jobs, no food, we have no future. In Yemen, Syria, and Bahrain they are being stepped on and killed.

They are protesting in Europe for the same reasons. The entire world is feeling the pinch even China who has been taking measures against its citizens for months. China as you can surmise is starting to hurt because its biggest customers the EU and the US are in trouble. I warned years ago for countries to stop wishing for the US demise because today we are all intertwined, the leader goes down we all go down.

What is happening in Europe and the Arab spring countries will happen here. The weak always feel the hurt first and we have been pretty weak over the last ten years because of our grotesque governing in the first place. Average citizens of the world have hit the breaking point. The Wall street protests have spread to Boston and around the country with promises to get results.

We are all peeved. As our plight worsens at the hands of our grossly inadequate bickering mis-government even in the US the breaking point in many instances has been hit. The worlds Governments and the worlds citizens will pay the price. Anarchy is our future.

It's about damn time Obama calls a spade a spade these so called Republicans are a dire danger to the world not just the United States!

Obama, like Truman, casts Congress as foil: Heading into a tough re-election campaign, President Barack Obama has been railing against Congress to pass his jobs plan and casting Republicans as obstructionists who would rather score political points than help the economy rebound. It's beginning to look like the Truman show.

"If Congress does something, then I can't run against a do-nothing Congress," Obama said Thursday at a White House news conference. "If Congress does nothing, then it's not a matter of me running against them. I think the American people will run them out of town." It's about damn time, these so called Republicans are a dire danger to the world!

FACT CHECK: In foreign policy address, Romney stretches on Obama's record, a fine example of why we must defeat Republicans

FACT CHECK: In foreign policy address, Romney stretches on Obama's record: In a foreign policy speech to cadets at South Carolina’s The Citadel, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney promised Friday to reverse non-existent “massive defense cuts” and pledged to deploy missiles and ships that already are largely in place. A closer look at some of his statements, and how they compare to the facts: They are called out and out lies and are a hallmark of today's Republicans!

Obama says Republicans would 'cripple' America: Faced with a recalcitrant Congress and Republicans who accuse him of waging class warfare over his call to raise taxes on millionaires and billionaires, Obama told supporters Sunday to brace for a "tough" reelection campaign."This is going to be especially hard because a lot of people are discouraged and a lot of people are disillusioned," Obama said at a fundraising event in Seattle, Washington."I'm determined because there's too much at stake.

You better believe it! Be very afraid, it is going to happen whether they take back control or not. They will be more ruthless if they lose. They will settle for nothing less than total collapse then Blame it on Obama so they can get back in and finish us and Bush's agenda off!

Republican's were hoping the fanatic Governor Perry was their man but as they observe how "mad" unstable and inadequate he is they are turning their attention to Mitt Romney. I believe he will pick up the gauntlet in the end but he will be defeated primarily because the evangelicals who actually are a cult are calling Mormonism a cult. In the end Obama's second term is going to be hell and Republican's will be a hell of a lot worse than they are now believe it or not. God help us because Republican's won't.

As I explained, I saw a post on the fact that the Republicans have the goal of destroying the the middle class, elderly, and ailing, like it or not that is what their policies will achieve.

It is going to be hell whether Republicans win or lose but we have to keep them away from controlling the country or the direction of the world.
